The latest in Salad wear?

I absolutely love salads, lettuce especially. However, now that I'm trying to eat healthier, I'm looking for a better way to dress it. Right now I use olive oil, salt and apple cider vinegar. It tastes great but its high in fat and calories.
Do you know of a better option?
I have no allergies and I'm always willing to try something new.

I'll be watching this post. Hopefully you'll find some good suggestions. I have been to restaurants that take fresh fruit juice and make a viniagrette, but I'm not sure of a recipe.0

I bought a bag of a broccoli slaw mix to add to my salads. On the back it had the dressing mix for the slaw. I changed it up to be lower in calories. It was 1/2 cup of low fat mayo, 3 tbls of Vinegar, and 2 tsp of Splenda. I kept the dressing aside and added a tablespoon or two to my salad. Its actually really good.0

I'll definitely be keeping an eye on this thread... I was going to go to the store today to look for a new dressing!0

I have made cole slaw twice (with apple) using this dressing.
equal parts light miracle whip and homemade non fat yogurt, salt and pepper, lemon or lime juice to taste

My favorite 'homemade' dressing still includes a little olive oil, but I like to add a few dashes of aged balsamic vinegar with a squeeze of lemon. It is light and refreshing, and even though olive oil has fat in it - I personally don't consider it to be a bad fat if I'm having one serving a day.
Another one I make in the blender/food processor - mustard, white wine, olive oil, shallots, garlic, and other spices to taste.0 -
I've been doing a greek gyro type salad and use tzadziki for the dressing. I make my tzadziki using greek yogurt (usually fage), finely shredded and drained cucumber and minced garlic ( I learned to make it from a greek grandmother when I lived in Greece long ago). In all the salad includes spinach, cut up turkey burgers seasoned with oregano and garlic powder (sometimes grilled chicken breasts seasoned the same way), tomatos, crumbles of feta cheese, fresh oregano, and some chopped Kalamata olives.
SO yummy and made completely without oil.
I also make my own dressings with balsamic and blueberries or rasberries with fresh herbs. I don't usually use much, if any, oil in that either.0 -
2 tablespoons of balsamic vinegar
1/2 tablespoon of lemon juice
1/2-1 teaspoon of good quality honey
A pinch of dried mixed herbs
A pinch of course ground black pepper
1/2 teaspoon of wholegrain mustard
1/4 teaspoon of crushed garlic (optional)
1-2 teaspoons of olive oil (optional)
Yum, yum, YUM!! Even the one with no oil in it. The one with garlic in it is nice if you want something with mega kick. You can also experiment with crushed ginger and chillis.0 -

If you want something creamier, like ranch, try yogurt based dressings. Bolthouse Farms makes a really yummy one!0

I can't wait to go food shopping-- all of these recipes sound great!
