I started to diet last week with the help of having to go through a colonoscopy. I decided that since I had to fast and cleanse for 24 hours, this would be a good time to start! Kind of like hitting the reset button, I think.
I am a guy and I need to lose 50 lbs. to hit my BMI target. I have not weighed that little since high school (30+ years ago). But the last ten years has seen a real increase ~ 15 ibs. in my weight. One of my challenges is that I like to drink alcohol. When I added up the alcohol calories I was consuming, it was probably 2,000 per week, sometimes more . I have a goal of moderating this a great deal. I figure if I was to cut this in half, that would be 1,000 calories a week, which will be more than a pound a month, just from that behavior modification alone!
Then I found MFP a few days ago. I used WW last year, and it worked OK. I didn't like the fees. I think MFP will get me where I need to go, and I love the android app.
By adding some consitant exercise and watching my eating and drinking, I think a pound and a half a week out to be doable.
So eight months to reach myu goal weight!
