how much protein?

Hello, I am fairly new to MFP, but have been working on weight loss for some time. Currently I am 5'9" and weigh 138. At this point I am not really looking to lose more weight, but to build muscle. How many grams of protein should I try to be consuming in a day? I have heard so many different things in regard to this; can anyone shed some light? Thanks so much!

To start. About 0.5 grams per lean body mass. so if you are 25% bodyfat, you should be getting around 105 grams of protein. So how that works out. You can always adjust up if necessary. ie.. if you continue to be very sore more than 2 days after your workouts etc.0
