Have finally read about MFP

I have actually been a member of MFP for a few years but have never really utilized it the way that I should have been. I used it more as just a calorie counter but never took the time to figure out what the whole "Goal", "Food", "Exercise" and "Net" items meant. Just too busy and thought I had my own thing all figured out.... but I have steadily gained weight over the past few years, due to age, a major move to a new state, the stress of giving up a job I loved, and not really having an idea of what I was doing apparently. :-) I have now spent the afternoon researching the site and think I have worked out how MFP will work for me if I do it correctly. I am ready! My family is all doing our own version of "The Biggest Loser" competition together and I really hope that I can trust this to help me get off the pounds that have crept on and refuse to budge, no matter how much I exercise. I want to be the biggest loser this year!
