So have any of the 'big losers' had to spend a bunch of $$$ on new clothes yet? I'm only at the point where I've had to add an extra hole on my belt. In fact, for a long time I've kept some of the clothes that used to fit me over 5 years ago thinking I'd eventually lose the extra weight. Now it's starting to happen. It's awesome!

Im not a huge loser yet but I have had to replace things I try not to buy too much just things to tide me over and Ive learned to gladly accept hand me downs during this process lol...freecycle is a blessing in disguise:drinker:0

I'm on my fourth and last wardrobe. I've gone from a tight 18 to a 4 or a 6. I always held out for at least two sizes drops in between trips to the goodwill with three garbage bags. I shopped a lot at thrift stores and target. Thank god for target.:flowerforyou:0

I have had to pick up a few items to tie me over till the next size. I love having to buy a new pair of pants in a smaller size!! I can't wait till I get to go shopping for the new bathing suit for the summer. This will be the first time that I will not dread it in a long time. Keep up the good work!0

Yeah, I'm kind of a miser by nature. But I don't think I'll have too much trouble getting new jeans when I need to.0

Im not a big loser on MFP- But I loss weight prior to MFP 30lbs and kept it off as well but I had to buy EVERYTHING- I then thew away all the too big clothes- So there is no going back for me-
My husband said thats the con of me losing weight- Shopping More than normal- cause everything went down sizes even my underwear lol0 -
I refuse to buy new clothes yet I just go to the thrift shop when my pants start falling off:laugh:0

Well I went and did a little reclaiming from my closet last night. I am fitting back into clothes I haven't been able to wear for about a year. I figure I will have to loose a lot more before that well runs dry and I actually have to start shopping for clothes I am mostly back in size 20's and there are a whole mess of 18s in my closet. I may have to dust off my sewing machine and brush up on my altering skills. I don't want to spend much until I hit a size I am going to stay at for a while. I can handle the baggy pants for now, it is nice change from when they were tight. :laugh:0

I havn't bought a new wardrobe yet, just a few items here and there. I don't have many clothes that fit so I do laundry a LOT... I don't want to buy all new clothes until I'm sure of my size.:flowerforyou:0

I REFUSE to buy new clothes until I get to where I want to...HOWEVER, the clothes I am wearing now are too big..LOL
I'd hate to go out and buy new clothes if those will eventually get too big too. My husband makes fun of me because everything is hanging on me.0 -
I just went shopping and I actually need more capris for this summer but goign to hold till June to see if I lose more weight0

I am currently a 10 and have been for awhile- at my biggest I was a 16/18 (I lost weight prior to finding MFP) A size 10 was my goal back then now it is a size 8 (thats my new goal I am working toward)
So I had no choice but to buy clothes- can't go to work bustin a sag-- All my scrubs for work are mediums which makes me happy and they aren't tight.:happy:0 -
I haven't bought any new clothes yet and refuse to do so yet, until I lose a lot more weight.0

I'm one of those people that 'saved' all my clothes from my younger days that I would 'fit back into' someday...
so, I've had some fun 'shopping' in my own closet.. although, some of the clothes are a little outdated (Forenza and Outback Red just aren't cutting it these days..  )..
anyway, I'm getting to the point where I need to start buying some stuff... I have mixed emotions about it.. while I'm happy to be a smaller size (currently wearing 10s on my way to 8s), I'm not 'done' yet and don't want to spend a whole bunch of money on 'transition' clothes...
I just HATE wearing my old clothes that are too big b/c they don't show off all my hard work.. :frown:
At my highest I was wearing 14/16..
that, and I wore a few maternity clothes a LOT longer than I should have :sick:0 -
I buy a new pair of jeans every 12 or 15 lbs . I want JUST ONE PAIR that fit me... I feel good in those every time.. and even when wearing the new size, I still wear that bigger size with a belt.0

I have clothes in various sizes from previous weight loss ventures...I as bound and determined that I would need those smaller sizes again! also I have a sister who likes to give me hand me down...I'm not too proud to accept her fat clothes! Some days (work out days) it is easier to just live in sweats! I am a Stay at home mom so it is far easier that those of you that have office jobs!:happy:0

I buy a few new things once I start looking silly in the old stuff. The curvy jeans I bought from Aeropostale were really tight when I bought them, but now they are far too large in the waist and my belt is too large as well, so now the crotch of the pants is somewhere around mid-thigh and they aren't flattering. I went to the Gap and bought a new pair of jeans, canvas capris, bermuda shorts, two pretty v-necks, a sweater t-shirt, and two tank tops for about $100 (I had a 30% off coupon). It was nice to fit into a size 6 perfectly and wear a small t-shirt. I am finally OVER buying stuff at Aeropostale because everything's cut for teenagers and I had to wear larges and size 8's in most pants there!0

I pulled out the skinny clothes but don't have anymore to fall back on - so as I lose more it's shopping time!!
I've ordered a few things here and there from Old Navy online when they've had sales and coupons - I got two pairs of cargo style casual pants for $5 each, tshirts-long and short sleeve for $5 each - so pretty good deals.0 -
Ever notice how your pants get longer as you lose weight? Weird.:noway:
petunia - I bet the old clothes are showing off your weight loss...I've only lost a few pounds and and people are already telling me my jeans are looking baggy.0 -

It's because as you start to lose weight the pants begin to sit lower and lower on your hips because you dont have a belly protruding out as far, or hips that go out as wide, so they start to sink down. Thats my issue now. I have a couple of pants that fit ok and 2 pairs that are new so they fit awesome. I definitely have new jeans. I really dont intend to lose much more weight at this point, if I do from running, oh well, but I like where I am...so I am slowly buying new things. I was so excited to buy a size 30 jean from my 34's...and most tops i try on now are a medium vs the x larges i fit into. I bought an awesome dress today at Old Navy also with the 30% coupon....and its a medium, and bright orange, something i would have NEVER bought before.....i love that i am not drawn to black anymore!!!!hehe0 -
