Hey guys! I am back, i am not sure how many times i have started this then stopped then did it all again..everytime was an excuse and boy am i sick of it..i am out of them now..i have my gym membership, I have babysitters for when i want to go to the gym, i have a place to cook food in, now all i need to do is actually start working to reach my goals...I am 5'5 at 135 pounds..to me that is heavy, I am more comfortable at the 120-125 area. so a total loss of 15 lbs is my goal..i want to reach my goal by june 1..i am not sure if its enough time, but i hope it is because that is when i am visiting my family again then in july i am moving to arizona, where i will neeeed to be in shape to handle that heat lol ;p well here are all of my issues:: my weakness is my eating..i have a very bad sweet tooth, i can eat cookies candy ice cream chocolate, etc and still be able to eat more..i dont have time to cook all natural stuff for dinners, so i tend to eat the bad quick stuff..in the gym i am not sure what to do..i can run for 20 min, fine, but what about building muscle..i feel like i waste more time wandering aimlessly then actually working out..i feel like the only way i can do it is with a trainer, and i just dont have money for that. anything you guys can offer will help..recipes, workout plans, motivation, anything..i am so sick of feeling gross:/ thank you soo much

To help keep you motivated, remember one golden rule that has helped me significantly:

"Do not let a moment of weakness turn into a moment of regret"

I say 'do not let' moments like that happen because you are in full control of what you eat and how much you exercise. It is YOUR decision and NOTHING can overcome that.

Additionally, think positively about how you have failed in the past. They provide you with the mistakes to avoid in the future. I know that you know why you've failed, because you've had the resolve to turn it around time and time again. And the amount of times you have tried is testament to how badly you want it. Think of this positively.

One more thing - learn that when it comes to your health and well-being that nothing, NOTHING CANNOT be compromised. Change whatever you need to change, do whatever you need to do - it all rests on you! Be selfish if you must! Choose yourself when it comes to bettering yourself above all else. A better you means a better sister/daughter/mum/aunt/neighbour/anything you aspire to be!

I will not end this post by saying 'good luck' and 'hope you succeed' because luck and hope have nothing to do with it. Instead, I will say this:

I am proud of the progress you will make. :)

I'm in the same boat as you. I have found all my excuses and have exhausted them. If I can't get to the gym (lack of babysitter) then I've got my new Kinect (and Your Shape Fitness) which is great.

And I too have an insatiable sweet tooth, but I'm finding new healthier (or at least better) options. I've learned that sipping hot cocoa helps me to have what I think is a lot of chocolate over time because it's so hot and can't drink it all at once like I can with candy or sweet snacks.

One of the big kickers for me is that I work in a restaurant, so not so good for me food is always around and my mealtimes are varied. Sometimes I can't eat dinner until almost 10pm and then I just feel ravenous so I eat things that are not that great for me. When I'm home, cooking is mostly for my 2 year old son. I always cook healthfully for him, So I'm just trying to make more and if I'm not hungry then, I just save it for later.

But I believe in myself and I believe in you! We can do this! I agree with PP that we have to do it for ourselves to make us better for those we love. Feel free to lean on me if you need help. I think our stories might be very similar.

I empathize with you. It have two young children and work as both a nurse and also as the office manager for my husband's busy painting company. For the first couple of years after having kids, I worked out "when I could find the time." Now, I get at least an hour a day, and my family knows that this is Mommy's time. How to do it? Well, here are some ideas that have worked well for me:
-Get up early and work out before the kids wake up.
-Exercise with the kids- it's teaching them healthy habits too!
-Exercise while they are taking naps or are in someone else's care. sure, it's easy to get caught up in doing other things, but remember that you are more productive when you've been able to exercise.

To build muscle, try free weights, resistance bands, circuit training. You can find some effective DVD's with 20 minute work outs. When you're at the gym, add some resistance on those machines.

I also have a sweet tooth. I treat myself like I do my kids- one sweet a day, you choose when and what (in reason.) Have you tried Special K cereals? Low calories and sweet enough to curb the craving.

    Good luck!

Oh, and also, for healthier meals, if you are able, I try to cut up veggies, fruits, lean meats, make tuna salad each Sunday. That way, it's easier to have a healthy meal all week long, since the prep work is already done!
  • Thank u guys:) I am Sooo wanting to Do this..when I am laying in bed at night I feel like I am ready to make changes, but when the day comes and I am busy I'm tell myself I cam start this again tomorrow or the next day..I have 5 months...5 months to flatten my belly, learn how to eat right and make going to the gym a habit...Ahh it seems impossible
