Hi,
Im looking for some paleo/primal friends so I can look at your diaries for food ideas and to keep me motivated!
I've been eating primal (I eat cheese/cream) for about a month now, loving it so far I've been diagnosed as having Insulin resistance after putting on weight following heart surgery (born with heart defect) and eating this way makes me feel so much better (no heart palpitations) and I have so much more energy! Using Marks carb curb I currently eat between 50-100grams of carbs per day, looking to lose 20 kilos to reach my goal, so far I've lost 11
I'm 26 and from NSW in Australia, currently work full time and also do uni part time, studying psychology

I have just started the 30 day primal challenge as well (week 2). I dont know how long I can last on 80g of carbs but so far so good. I dont miss it at all.
Also I am quite clueless when it comes to what to eat, I just wing it as long as its the "right" food category0 -
Hello! Primal eater here! Albeit I'm on my 6th day but probably my 5th time trying and darnit I'm determined! I have an auto immune disorder and I'm trying to make the symptoms deplete by changing my diet and doing the correct exercises for my body and issues.
I definitely need some buddies/support! My names Jessica, I'm a wife and mommy of our soon to be 3 y/o. In November we moved down from WI (which I miss terribly) to Houston, TX to help my inlaws. At the moment we are a 4 generational family (yes shoot me) and they all eat for crap! IE last night they had Little Caesers (which I wouldn't normally eat anyways!) while I made myself cauli-rice, a delicious pork chop with sauteed mushrooms, baby spinach and zucchini in a white wine butter sauce. (did I mention I'm a foodie aka trained chef) lol
I'm looking forward to sharing experiences, recipes and ideas!!
ps these 4 pounds loss are since starting Primal on Monday :drinker:0 -
I'm doing Paleo..in my 2nd week of the 30 day challenge.
I am not eating dairy, any sweeteners..basic back to the bare necessities. I get all of my recipes off of Pinterest. I have about 260 pinned so far. Anyone can add me as a friend0 -
Paleo here, with dairy.0

Hey there!
I've been Primal for just about a month and loving it! Just jumped right in after reading about the brilliance of the whole thing...I love anthropology so I am really intrigued. I also studied health and nutrtion in college back in the 70's and boy have things changed!! Love it!
I'd already lost all the weight I needed to counting calories but I WISH I had found this first!! LOL  I also follow the carbo curve and find it very satisfying, effective and a breath of fresh air.
The biggest thing so far for me is that I do NOT have to take a GERD (heartburn/reflux) medication anymore and I had taken it for 2 years!
I take a real personable approach to MFP and comment everyday and want support in return, it just makes it more fun :flowerforyou:
Send a friend request if that sounds good to you and/or check my diary, it should be open!0 -
Paleo but since Christmas have not been able to shake the sweet tooth, trying to get back to being as strict as I was prior to Christmas. I can definitely feel the difference and see it too, my acne is resurfacing, weight wise I'm only up and down 3 pounds. I'm working on that though.0

My hubby and I are starting today. I'm open to being friends with anyone who knows more than me about this - which is pretty much everyone. I had been limiting carbs anyway but now my hubby's buddy's are on board so we're jumping in. I cleaned out the pantry today. My kids are a little freaked out. LOL! We'll keep dairy and cheese in, so I guess we're primal instead of paleo.0

Keep setting goals for yourself. Alwaya try to have a glass of cold water first thing in the am to help boost your metebolism. Best of luck....0

My diary is open for anyone to look at - and happy for you to add me as a friend :-) I live across the ditch in NZ
There are also a few Paleo groups on here - have not spent much time on the....0 -

Hi, I started Primal yesterday. I'd really love to have a few buddies for support and information. Not sure how to get a real variety in my diet.0

so what exactly is the difference between primal and paleo?0
-
I believe the major difference between Primal and Paleo is the dairy. Primal allows natural dairies while Paleo does not. If there are more differences please feel free, it's hard remembering the slight differences!!0

I'm intrigued with this diet. Just downloaded the app on my droid. Anyone who wants to share what they know feel free to friend me.

Hello all,
I have been reading Mark's 21 day transition to Primal book - and looking through all his cookbooks. I am about to start the 21 day transition and have already been cooking Primal style meals for the last 2 days.
I'm excited!
And snack suggestions are welcome. Also.. does anyone here make any of their own 'energy' or snack bars instead of buying them? If you buy Primal friendly energy bars, which ones do you recommend? I'm used to Lara and Kind bars, but want to find the right thing for this diet.
Hope everyone is doing great!

Hi all,
I fell in love with the Primal lifestyle last summer (and lost almost 30 lbs in 3 months), but then let a trip to France (damn the baguettes!) and the holidays de-rail me a bit. I didn't gain all the weight back, but I did backslide about 1/2-way.
I came back to my senses around New Year's (who doesn't?) and started eating Primal again. I ate without recording in MFP for a couple of weeks, and didn't really see a loss (although I did feel almost immediately better). I decided that at this point in my journey I really need to have the accountability of tracking, plus I wanted to be careful to be getting the right mix of fats/proteins/carbs, so I started tracking about a week ago.
WOW, what a difference combining MFP & Primal makes for me! I've got my daily goals set at 65% fat, 25% protein, and 10% carb. My calories are set at 1500, but I don't really worry if I get more than that, as long as my carbs stay under 100 g (although usually they hover around 40-50 g). 7 days into this combined approach, and I'm 7 pounds down! So, you'll be seeing me here over this next year. I've got about 80 lbs. to go, but I know I can do it with this lifestyle!
Cheers,

I just started this on Monday. Doing pretty good but have been eating too much fruit and dairy. I already had it in the fridge and can't afford to just throw it out. I haven't had any soda, breads since then and I have cooked everything all week, no processed food. I am doing Insanity during the day, not at 100% yet because it's been about 6 months since I worked out really good. I lost 50lbs and kept it off 2yrs but got burned out and took a break. Big mistake....gained 15lbs and feel like I am starting all over again. I really want to get back to where I was last year and hopefully I can stick with this. I have been missing/craving my popcorn, rice cakes and cereal. Any suggestions on snacks and anything that could help during the first weeks.0

This is great that i found you guys on here:) I have looked into "primal" on Marks daily apple....I think it sounds great....I think I have been eating this way since January 4th but not sure...I started an antifungal diet...no sugar, no grains, no dairy except organic cream cheese, organic butter and organic sour cream in moderation. I LOVE this lifestyle...it's been awesome!!
I do need to reboost b/c today I was feeling frazzled with life/diet and I am not losing any weight. I need help and encouragement and I lost at first with cutting all those above items out but i think I too need to log my calories for accountability.0 -
Just wanted to say hello... looking for some friends with similar diet goals. I have been following an anti-candida diet for 3 weeks now, which is very similar to paleo/primal. Trying to strengthen my immune system and get my candida overgrowth under control and then plan on switching to primal. I love this way of eating but do find myself getting a bit burnt out on ideas and never having enough easy "I don't feel like washing, chopping, cooking, cleaning up" meal options. Hopefully we can all help inspire each other.0

Hi I too have just started the primal /paleo lifestyle today... Def need some likeminded friends so please add me..0
