Hi Guys..
I have a lot of friends who work as professional trainers and they always told me that it really helps if we take cold/chilled shower after a heavy workout .. be it cardio or strength training. Cold/Chilled water helps the muscle to get recovered very fast and you don't feel sore after the workout. In fact there are some gyms where they have ICE showers .. how cool is that
How much do you believe in that and which one do you prefer? Hot or Chilled

Cold baths/showers are excellent.
When playing rugby seriously they used to have 4 wheelie-bins in the shower room, full of ice and water. We had to take it in turns sitting in them after a training session or a game. Incredible for recovery rate. Used to play 2 games a week and train other 5 days and no problem.
I now try to do it as much as I can but never has my recovery rate been that good again. You don't get many ice plunge pools but I will alternate hot and cold showers. For a great tip, if you have been using your legs (for a run or a weights routine) direct the shower head at just one leg at a time and put on the coldest you can. Count to 60. Then do go back to warm for a bit, then repeat with cold on your other leg.
Physiologically I think it is supposed to flush the blood from your muscles and then the warm water brings fresh oxygenated blood back in.0 -
Sounds horrid to me. I'd rather deal with the soreness.0
