I'm the opposite! I'd rather work out and feel that energy and be able to eat whatever I want. But, sadly, that doesn't work for me.

I used to agree OP. I have a bad right knee, a bad right shoulder and a bad back from having babies.

But since I found a work out I enjoy I actually look forward to it. I find dieting easy, I always have. I never ate too much, just the wrong things. So I'm still eating the same amount of food, just healthier versions.

But I would really recommend finding a work out you love. It improves your mood, energy levels, sleep......everything!

    Opposite for me.

Working out is "easy" because there's not a whole lot of thought process behind it. It's a physical thing, so you either do it or you don't.

I have to think about the whole eating process before I consume anything and that's tiring.

I'd rather work out and eat what I want, but, unfortunately, that's not going to give me the results I want so I can't have one without the other if I want progress.

I can totally understand where you are coming from. I have had a lot of pain. I do find that now that I exercise more I have less pain because my muscles are stronger so they can support the joints better. The movement also increases the fluid in the joints which helps too. I would really recommend starting out slow and gentle, just walking, and work your way up to stronger muscle and less pain. In my mind the goal isn't to be thin but rather to be able to do the things I want to do without pain, sleep better and feel good!

I have developed a lot of pain too. My knees are a real problem, and because I compensate by hobbling, now my hips hurt and after a while, my feet hurt too. I'm a mess. While dieting is easier as far as "today I'm not going to eat ____", now that I've gotten in the habit of working out, the benefits far outweight dieting lone. While my pain issues having completely gone way, they've gotten better, and I'm feeling stronger. Plus working out makes me less hungry for bad stuff and the gym has replaced the happy hour habit.

I love food so much, i could literally eat all day and all night. Sometimes i find it really hard to work out but then i think of the yummy food i get to eat at the end and thats motivation enough.

That's exactly what motivates me to work out :) I looooooooove food and I want to enjoy my meals with my family, so working out is the best way to be able to enjoy my food and have any chance at losing weight.

I love love love love love LOVE working out. It's almost to the point that it kills my diet because I don't take in as many calories as needed or I get so hungry I go way over. Dieting... not so much of a love. I like finding out about nutrition and researching why foods help us in the way they do, but sticking to the diet plan is not my strong point.
