I'ma newbie to My Fitness Pal, and already finding it really useful (in fact have just ignored the box of chocolates going round my office as I know I have very calories left today!).

I've tried losing weight many times over the last number of years, and failed at each attempt. I started again on 24th July 2010 and finally it seems to be working. Over the last year and a half I've lost just over 30 pounds by just being sensible with food and exercise. I've been stalling though for the last 6 months and joined MFP to get a little bit of extra encouragement and support and hopefully to kickstart the weight loss again :)
