Is the scale moving too fast?!

So it's only been 11 days, and I've dropped 9 lbs. I'm eating my 1200 calories, and most of my exercise calories back. I'm working out 5 days a week, doing walking/running some pilates videos.

Almost seems like it's been too easy...

  • During the first week of eating right and exercising you drop more than you would at any other time because you have shed a bunch of water weight. Your loss will not be as great for your second weigh-in. No need to worry on this is a weekly occurrence!

no ..itll slow down when your body is done going through shock of eating healthy and exercise .. thats why its important to change up once in a while to avoid lengthy plateaus

Keep in mind that the first few weeks will include a few pounds of water weight-- eating healthier and staying hydrated means that your body is finally letting go of some of the extra water it used to hold onto!

This isn't a bad thing, of course. It's naturally going to happen. It's not fat loss, but it is a loss on the scale and a loss in measurements-- less bloating. :)

Similarly, you can have a sudden water weight increase when you become dehydrated, or menstruating (ladies only, obviously).

But aside from that, a dramatic change in your eating and exercise habits is kicking your body into overdrive. You're going to lose weight fastest at the beginning, and it usually slows down as you get closer to goal. The first 10 pounds are much easier than the last 10 pounds!

But anyway, congratulations! You're reaping the benefits of your hard work and attention to proper nutrition. I expect many more losses in the future!!

    Go for it!

I'm planning to watch my weight during my cycle because I believe that will provide some insight into my weight loss/gain weekly.

    Thanks!
