It is just so sad that I finally found a Zumba group that I could join that is outside of fitness clubs so I would not have to have the fitness club membership, but since everyone on MFP has been voicing there complaints about the New Year resolutioners crowding the groups and fitness clubs I dont want to join the group even though I know I have been working on losing weight for several months now. It is a shame that people can't be more supportive to people who want to do something but feel so unwelcome that they usually lose intereset really quick!!

If you worry about what people here say, you'll never do anything.

People everywhere are judgmental. But you can't let it stop you from living your life. Some people are just complainers.

Clearly January is the busiest month of the year for gyms - but I think the reason it's so shocking to the regular gym goers is that December has to be the slowest month. When you get used to rock star parking and never waiting for equipment it's strange when the members literally double overnight.

Last year I cursed the new members (I'm a faithful 3x week gym member since August 2010) but this year I feel different about them. I want to encourage them and I'm trying to help out the lost souls wandering around clearly looking for assistance. I'm also not as insecure as I was last year, so I think that's why my outlook has changed. When someone is cursing the new members they're really just letting you know how insecure they are in their own exercise habits.

So screw them and do what you want!
