I just don't understand how I gained over 20 lbs but I only went up one size in clothes! There are people who say "I don't weigh myself, I just judge by my clothes". Well I tried that and guess what? I only went up one size but when I finally got on the scale I was 20 lbs heavier! How is that possible?? I am now working on getting it all back off and I am using the scale regularly now!

Don't get too hooked on those numbers!! If you weigh yourself everyday, you'll lose your mind. Instead, make healthy eating choices and stay active, and make your weight tracking a weekly or bi-weekly event.0

Could be the fat you've gained is evenly distributed as opposed to in one area, or some of the weight you put on was muscle, which takes up less space on a lb for lb basis, or a combination........there's glycogen and water storage that can effect how cloths fit from one day to the next...........better to take measurements, going forward, simply because adding muscle is not a bad thing.0

I'm all for muscle gain but that wasn't my case because I wasn't even exercising at the time.0

If it's any consolation, I've lost nearly 30lb and my clothes size hasn't changed... I lost nearly 60lb a few years ago and dropped, at best, one size. The effect of loss or gain varies for different people - I'm overweight on a basically very large frame, so losing weight doesn't show on me nearly as much as it would on a person with the same weight, but a smaller frame.0

When I was in HS I weighed about 175 and I was a size 14. Now I weigh 100 pounds more and I am a size 18/20. Makes no sence what-so-ever and it is quite discouraging knowing that I will probably only be a size 14 after I lose weight. So it all depends on what size you are to begin with. Larging sizes (14+) is takes more weight loss to go down a size generally, compared to the smaller sizes (4, 6. etc.). It sucks!0

Those 20 pounds didn't just go from the waist down, it's not surprising that you only went up one size.0
