Hello. I don't know if anyone knows the answer to this, but i eat a nature valley granola bar pretty much every morning (monday-friday). I eat either the honey oat, pecan crunch, almond crunch, or my fav-peanut butter crunch. I was wondering if this is a good breakfast? I know there is different opinions on granola because it is high in fat, but it does (most days) keep me sastified until lunch. I would love input on this.

Personally, I find those bars too high in sugar, and I prefer something protein based for breakfast to keep me feeling full.

But if it works for you, fine!

Hmmm...really never checked the sugar...ill have to check that...i do find that i go over/or go very close to my sugar a lot of days
  • I love these too...especially one of the bars crumbled into yogurt. However, they are one of those "natural" foods, and they also list sugar and oil at the # 2 and #3 ingredients. I agree with more protein. I also eat my meals: breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince, and dinner like a pauper, so my b-fast is huge! So first, I would be eating more than 190 cals for b-fast alone! I would also try making your own granola...then you know what's in it, and you can use more natural complex sugars like agave nectar or just dried fruit as the sweetener! Remember that b-fast sets your body's metabolism for the whole day!

i guess that makes me think of another question...what is a recommended sugar intake for the day...i know MFP has a automatic one, but is that correct?
