Probably, because muscle weights more than snow.

I overheard my coworker say that her hair dresser got all bulked up from too much snow shoveling and now she looks like She-Hulk. So I would be careful.

It all depends on the intensity of your shoveling and the density of the snow. ( rhymed) And if it's done on a repetitive basis. So I need more info before I can render my opinion!

I need to see your food diary before I can tell you. The amount of potassium you are ingesting has everything to do with shoveling-induced bulkification.

Yes, especially if you're using progressively larger shovels.

Depends on if it is a wet and heavy or light a fluffy snow. But I would be careful either way. Just the repetitive motion from shoveling can cause specific muscle groups to work more than others. This could causing uneven toning and muscle bulk to build up forcing you to do unnecessary workouts to even things out.

I think you have your cause and effect reversed. You would bulk up in order to shovel snow. --rml_16

I spent the last 5 minutes laughing. How many calories do you think I have burned? How should I log this? And did I spot reduce my behind?

I thought the yellow snow was HCG?

Use a smaller shovel with more reps and you'll just tone up. Bigger shovel, you'll bulk up like a powerlifter.

I am green and I am incredible... JK We’ve had record breaking snow fall this year; I haven’t noticed any extra “bulk” per se

it could have some HCG. Dip a pregnancy test stick into the yellow snow, and wait for the results. If it's positive, then :drinker: !

just use one of those little bitty kiddy shovels.... that way you aren't lifting as much and it's more like cardio cause it'll take you 4 times as long to shovel

Perfect: Lower weight + higher reps = cardio LOVE IT!!! Where's my little **** shovel???

    Don't risk it.

Get a extension cord and your hair dryer. 3-4 hours tops and it should all be gone! :drinker:

Being from Newfoundland Canada.. I do my fair share of shoveling.. especially since im a single mom.. no man to shovel my snow.. Last year the majority of my weight loss was from shoveling.. Since proper shoveling is bending your knees.. I did squats to get the shovel of snow and then jumped out of it to throw it up on the bank... I never bulked up as it is only for a few months of the year I can do this.. so unless you got snow all year round I wouldn't worry about getting bulky.. and its listed in the database for how many calories you can burn.. my neighbors probably thought I was crazy... but within 3 months of shoveling and eating right I lost 26lbs!

No you won't bulk up. No one gets bigger biceps while drinking wine and watching the snow melt. :drinker:

Depends on how much layering you wear to keep warm while you do it. I imagine if it's cold and you need 2 ski suits on, you'll look pretty bulky.
