Runners - how do you record interval training calories?

I know doing intervals is a higher burn than just going an average pace but how do you record for accurate calories burned? Probably a HRM is my best bet?

I do my HIIT training on a treadmill, so I usually take the average speed of what I jogged/sprinted and use that. It is probably slightly lower (calorie-wise) but I'd rather be on the low side than the high side. There are also many additional after burning benefits too! HIIT is great!

I just record the average pace for the entire run and leave it at that. That should get me close enough for calorie counting.

If I'm burning more than that, so be it.

Is indeed most accurate way you'll get, as long as it asks for gender, weight, age, perhaps max hr and resting hr for even better.

Besides, you really need it for doing intervals. Feels great to see the numbers go up for putting forth the same effort, then you'll know really having a great effect.
