Maybe this video has been posted here before, but just in case here I am sharing it with all of you, hoping not only that those of you who don't know how the body works in terms of PH learn a little but also so you pass along this video to people you know who swear Diet Soda doesn't make them fat.

hmm very interesting, thank you for that. I did not realize diet soda can do that to you, I am going to start having to cut back and eventually completely getting rid of it.

I would do a little more research than watching a youtube video before making up your mind on diets. Video is full of psuedo-science by those who have enough chemistry knowledge to be dangerous, but not enough to be helpful.

So you're telling me that Diet Coke is good?

Also, this video is not a "diet", but a simple explanation about how our bodies work and how the body balances the PH in our bodies. Based on my profession and my education, there's nothing wrong with this video at all, and the suggestions in it are pretty safe and healthy.

Also, a piece of advice, just because someone has M.D. next to their name, doesn't mean they know it all. I have seen a lot of "doctors" who have no idea what they are talking about in health related issues, diet, etc. I trust more specialists. Besides, the article you posted is bashing those ads about specific products to help regulate PH, which I can agree with that, since most products of that type are full of crap :)

I think most people already know that diet soda is not good for you (particularly in large quantities) however I don't think it necessarily makes people fat directly. Many people here on this site and also out in the rest of the world lose weight successfully while still drinking diet soda. Or even regular soda. So long as it works into their calories. I can see where it could contribute to various issues and IF it contributes to a health problem such as lowered thyroid function, then yeah I can see that but it's not like everyone that has a few sodas a day is going to destroy their thyroid and make them fat in the absence of over consumption.

I find it slightly annoying that the video links to a site that wants you to pay $14.00 per month to learn all their information. But I appreciate you trying to share something that people may be interested in.

Yeah, unfortunately now a days people somehow try to make you pay for things you can find everywhere online for free.

About soda, although I can't tell you people have lost or not weight while still drinking them, it is a fact soda is bad for your health, whether is diet or not.

    And you're welcome!

What junk. Blood pH is very tightly regulated and well buffered against fluctuations

The studies that show a link between weight/weight gain and diet soda are epidemiological and as we all know correlation =/= causation
