Small victories count

I started on MFP 90 days ago. I was looking for a way to make my weight loss program a little easier. I started to lose weight as a result of a wager we had at work with 7 of us putting 20 dollars into the pool to see who could lose the most weight before Thanksgiving. I won the wager by beating my boss by a 0.1% of total weight loss.
When I started this rodeo I was at 268 lbs. This was pre-MFP. I found MFP looking for an app that would allow me to track my food and so on. At that time I was not just overweight, but also with high blood pressure and type 2 diabetes. Today on my 90th day I went to the doctor for my annual physical. my weight this morning was 234, yes still high but working to reach my first goal of 200. My blood glucose was 77, my BP was 120/77.
As a result of being in this program I feel so much better, my knees do not hurt, I have had 2 knee surgeries. I have built my endurance, and the icing on the cake today was that the doc took me off the diabetes medication. While i have done a lot of the work, I could not have done it without my MFP friends who encourage me on a daily basis.
I showed my doc the app and he downloaded it and signed up for an account on MFP. He said he would show it to his patients.
So today was a small victory that I celebrated. I know I have a ways to to go still. I want to be down to 200 lbs and hopefully run a 5 K by this summer. If I get there it will be a huge victory for me.
Since I do not have any pics on photobucket I cannot add them here. You are most welcome to go to my profile and check them out. If you want me to add you as a friend, send me a request and a note.
