I pulled my hamstring years ago in college football is there anything else besides surgery to help it heal

    If it was just pulled, it should have healed on its own through physical therapy and the bodies natural healing processes. If you are still having problems with it, you need to see a doctor because it wasn't just pulled.

    Physical Therapist are trained to deal with that sort of thing - I'm stronger all over from what I learned in only a few sessions. What they tell you to do hurts, but it works.

    When I pulled a muscle the physical therapist had my rest it and ice it. They also did some infrared thing. Then they started me on weight training that muscle, very slowly building up. It took about 8 weeks to heal...

    I guess pulling a muscle is really just asking more of that muscle than it was prepared to handle, thus the weight training to strengthen it.
