Can eating the same foods everyday help you lose weight, or no?
I tend to do that. Oatmeal for breakfast, sandwich for lunch, salad for dinner.
I switch up the ingredients, but there always the same!
Opinions?

In the context of weight loss the only variable you need to really consider is your total intake and whether or not that's less than your maintenance. If that list of the same foods day in and day out, is less than you expend, then yes, it will cause weight loss.
However, I'd caution you on doing this for extended periods of time unless you have a VERY well balanced plan and even then it's hard to determine whether or not this is the case. Micronutrient deficiencies could develop if your list of foods is lacking in necessary things your body needs. Since you'd be eating the same thing every day, you'd be continually missing out on whatever essentials may not be present in your list.0 -
I tend to generally eat the same foods everyday give or take....sometimes ill switch up the ingredients as well! Ur not alone0

I have been doing that as well, getting a little tired of it but just makes thing so much easier. I have lost 2 lbs each week along with working out so not going to change things yet.0

I kinda fo that. I go through spurts where I'll eat oatmeal every day, then change it to eggs or whatever. I figure my body craves _____ for a reason. if I'm feeling salads I'll have them for lunch for as long as they sound good0

When it comes to certain dishes, nahhh I stick with what I enjoy...
Im a BIG huge fan of spaghetti squash and julienned zucchini for my 'noodle' fix....cheap, easy and what makes the difference I think, is that you have to really really really love to cook, and be creative and know how to incorporate different flavor profiles to spice things up a bit... I work as a chef right now so its way too easy to do.....
I love the shirataki noodles as well..... especially when I make Pho, stir-fry, or complement any asian inspired dish. I make a great vietnamese inspired salad, tons of vegetables, sauteed tofu, and a sweet-fish sauce dressing.... soooooo very good..... The fresh mint really makes this dish so good.. and the vegetables are pretty much the same that I use every day.
I have been very successful with my weight loss so far and I use alot of repeat fresh ingredients... so it can be done...
You just have to be 100% committed in being in that kitchen as a well-seasoned cook, or reliable with cookbooks that you can relate to.0 -

Heck no. If I ate the same thing day in and day out, I would never stick with it. I keep all types of things available for me so I can mix things up. For example:
Breakfast: 1) Banana and Almond Milk
2) Eggs, Chicken Sausage, and Toast
3) Cereal and Milk
4) Oatmeal
Lunch: 1) Sandwiches (I keep 2-3 types of meat and 2-3 types of cheese on hand plus different toppings)
2) Mini pizza
3) Salads (all types of vegetables on hand, different proteins, toppings, and 2-3 salad dressings)
4) Soup
5) Leftovers
Dinner: I keep a huge collection of low(er) calorie recipes between cookbooks, pinterest, and other websites. I rarely ever repeat a meal within a months time, and often within 2-3 months time. I also do not like to eat any sort of "type" of meal within the same week. So, I usually only have one vegetarian meal, one chicken meal, one fish meal, ect each week (unless I get an awesome deal at the store haha).
Snacks: I keep all kinds of things on hand. Right now I have apple sauce, popchips, carrots and celery, hummus, 2 types of salsa, greek yogurt, popcorn, nuts, and cut up fruit for the week. I mix and match these through out the day.0 -
I kinda do the same foods - in a way....
When I want dairy/calcium - I tend to go with yogurt - it's portion controlled, satisfies my sweet cravings, comes in a variety of flavors so I don't get bored with it. Easy to add fresh fruit to and the light, low fat versions don't totally mess up my food diary.
For proteins - I like turkey & chicken, although I track my sodium - so I have to be careful what forms of it I use.
And salads & veggies are usually the same things over & over, just mixed up a bit.
So yeah, I guess it's the same foods everyday. The foods I "know" are easier to track and account for - I don't end up with that "GOSH, I didn't realize there was so much ________ in whatever. No surprises in the food diary! LOL0
