We are leaving on Sunday for a 4 day trip to a family resort. This is only my second week of calorie counting & exercising. Things have been going very well, but I am afraid of losing my groove during vacation. Should I try to figure out the calories I'm eating & keep my daily logs? Or maybe log the foods w/o calorie numbers? Or skip it all together and enjoy myself? They do have a gym on site, so I am hoping to get some exercise - they have a water park as well

Going on vacation and eating out all the time is really difficult! What I do is eat good breakfasts (high protien low fat and lots of fruit), lunches like salads with lean protein and good dinners. The only thing that add A LOT of calories are the alcoholic beverages! I would just enjoy yourself but be conscientous of what your eating.

Oh yeah, ask for your proteins grilled without seasoning! It adds tons of sodium and calories otherwise...Have fun though!:glasses:

I'm leaving Saturday and worried about the same thing! I've been at this for 8 weeks now, and I definitely don't want to stop! I'm planning on working out as much as I can, hopefully 30 min. a day. Also, I'm bringing along healthy snacks, along w/ low-sugar oatmeal for breakfast. I'm planning to log as best I can...and hopefully not gain wait this week. Have a great trip!

It depends....on a regular vacation I do half and half, but on a special vacation, like say my future honeymoon, I wouldn't give a second thought to eating whatever I want.

So on a regular run of the mill vacation, I probably wouldn't bother logging my food because so many of the restaurants may not be chains and the good would be really difficult to log. But I would try to make the best choices I could, while still letting myself enjoy my vacation. Try to make use of the gym at the hotel, and you'll probably get a lot of walking in, so I think you'll be fine.
