MFP is great. I NEED it now. If you use Excel at work like I do you get kind of addicted to keeping track of metrics in that way. As an additional motivator I've been keeping a couple of spreadsheets https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AmWYYlU3NYIndHQ5Q2l0dG1VSWt6UGdSNTNsaGs2LVE
One charts my historical weight. I've been heavy for years, but haven't always been, so it helps to have an aid to looking back at thinner days to help me think through what my goals should be. The other just blocks out pounds lost relative to a goal as a different kind of progress indicator.

I used a spreadsheet until I found this site... I've deleted the sheet now and use my phone when I'm not at home etc. But I heart spreadsheets!0

I still keep spreadsheets to track running and biking stats.
Pace, total miles per year in US and metric for running
On my bike I track average cadence, distance per stroke, pace and total mileage. I track road miles separate from trainer miles because my road miles are usually "flat" in the sense that they start/end at the same elevation. My trainer has resistance that is roughly equivalent to riding up a gradual incline.
If anyone wants to see them I can make a copy and share with you via Google Docs.
I'm an engineer - I LOVE spreadsheets!!0 -
I still use my spreadsheet to track my weight in addition to MFP because my spreadsheet goes all the way back to 2009 and 345 pounds instead of where I started MFP at 308. It's nice to see the big number (60 pounds lost) instead of 25 on here, and yeah I know I can adjust my ticker, but i want to track what i've lost ONLY on MFP compared to what I lost on my own.
I use DailyMile.com to track my running mileage, never though of a spreadsheet for that!0 -
I keep my Insanity and half marathon training plan in a spreadsheet along with my measurements and my weight so I can track my progress. It's housed in a thumb drive that I have in a tiny case attached to my keyring so it's always with me. Now that's the analyst in me. :blushing:0

I keep an Excel sheet that tracks my weigh ins, HRM data, measurements, and Insanity fit test results. Unfortunately, this site only tracks the bare minimum of metrics and there's a lot more that I like to keep track. We accountants love our numbers.0

I live and breathe spreadsheets. I'm keeping one so that I can run stats on the relationship between my daily intake, exercise, and weight. It's gonna be OFF THE HOOK.0

I see I'm not the only geek around here. Yay for us. Love tam120 keeping his(hers?) on an always-accessible thumb drive. Now that's funny.0
