First day!

So it's my first day. I am motivated and kinda depressed at the same time. As I read, I find out I've been doing everything wrong thus far. So here's to positive change. Tonight I'll be off to join a gym. Any recommendations for a first time dieter? After all, knowing what to do and actually doing it are two totally different things.
