Cheat day?

What is your feeling about cheat day? I've been using MFP for three months now and have lost 13 lbs. I had my calories set so that I could lose one pound a week and I would give myself one cheat day a week. At first cheat day wasn't a problem for me. I never really craved sweets or anything. Now that I've been using MFP for three months now I've noticed that cheat day has almost become a binge day for me. Now that I know I can't have sweets during the week I tend to binge on cheat day. I know that I'm bingeing while I'm doing it but I can't help it. It's like I really NEED the sweets. I'm about five pounds from my weight loss goal so I've thought about setting my calories so that I lose half a pound a week. I'm torn. On one hand I tell myself that if I can eat more calories during the week then I won't want to cheat as bad on cheat day. On the other hand if I consume more calories during the week and eat bad on cheat day then I won't lose any weight.
Also, on another note. My position at work might be changing soon. I will be going from being pretty active to sitting down driving a forklift. I can choose not to transfer but the forklift job comes with more hours. That will also effect my calorie intact.

I used to be okay with it, but (for me) I find it leads to more eating late or more eating crap and saying, oh it's a cheat meal/cheat day. So I think I might stop doing it. But, as a general rule, I don't think there's anything wrong if it keeps ya sane.0

i would change your loss-per-week goal simply because youre so close to your goal. yes you will get more cals, it may or may not help with your binging.
ive found cheat days to help, but as time goes on i find i "need" them less and less. im having less cravings and so i try to save my cheat days for eating out with the family a couple times a month. sometimes i eat crap, sometimes i dont. but in the end its what is working for me. find what works for you and dont be afraid to change if it doesnt work. just make sure you give it enough time to really judge.0 -
I give myself 2 to 3 cheat meals per week. I don't have to take them, but I can. In this way they are scattered through the week and I don't feel like I have to eat all the fun stuff in one day. It works better for me than a whole cheat day. I always have a hard time bouncing back from a whole day as opposed to a meal.0
