Tonight I was able to purchase "Faust" for free ... My partner didn't even know why I want that book... he didn't know who "Faust" was? What is happening with our society? Are we forgeting our roots? I am not saying that Goethe should be sold for huge price, however ... I purchased other apps for £0:69 ... surely Goethe worths more, just for hte philosophical concepts he brings to the table ...

***sorry just a rant - feel free to ignore this***

It isn't a matter of losing touch with out roots, but it is a modern day advantage... Most books that are OUT OF COPYRIGHT (pre 1923) can be released in digital media at no cost. There are many organizations that are doing this at no charge, but can ask for donations to keep the operation going. Each page has to be digitalized and uploaded to a server...someone has to do it...

Yes. The price is not a reflection on the worth of the book.

Your partner, on the other hand, I have no explanation for.

I see it as a good thing. I have a lot of friends who are now reading the classics because they can get them for free! hopefully this will help them be appreciated.
