Issue with nausea after exercise

After a 2.85km walk yesterday we went by car via quite a twisty 30+ km road to the beach and I got progressively nauseous (carsick?).
During our walk I had made sure I drank plenty of water and also had further water in the car. I had eaten a good breakfast about 300 cals about 2 hours before the exercise.
My heartrate at the start of the walk was 68bpm and afterwards returned to 70bpm within 8 mins (only taken at this time so don't know how high at end of walk). Also I tried to push myself a bit and completed the walk in 38mins rather than 52mins in November but I was not distressed/ exhausted at the end of the walk. The temperature here would have been around 22 Deg C (about 75 Deg F).
I had had a good breakfast a couple of hours before so was not hungry. When we got to our destination we went to the toilet (pee only) and this did not relieve the nausea.
I bought an egg sandwich on brown bread and a Pepsi Max at a bakery and a few minutes later the nausea was all but gone.
Has anyone else had this issue and if so what do you think it is related to? I wonder whether we should have waited and rested about 5-15minutes before getting back into the car to go to the beach.
