I have seen many people talk about wearing there hrm all day
is there any purpose for this? is it just a one time thing or daily?
what are your thoughts?

HRMs aren't meant to be worn all day...if you really want to know your calorie expenditure for any given day, a BodyBugg or similar device would be better suited.

CHECK THIS WEBSITE ! and yes you can wear it all day! AND you with this one you dont have to wear a chest strap all the time the watch top will do the HR measuring. Wear a chest strap for exerciseing if you wish.

Basic principal of weight loss is to intake less cals then you burn a day. The HRM (watch) allows you to see how many cals you burn doing different activities thought out the day. 3000 cal = 1lb do your math how long it will take you to reach your goal

Although its not out yet, check out www.mybasis.com it looks to be pretty promising for tracking heart rate all day as well as sleep, amongst other things. Without a chest strap.
