you'll actually lose weight at targeted areas of weighting training, also toning your body while u lose!!!!

its always advisable to do weight training along with along cardio!!!

I am. Are you interested in how you LOOK or are you interested in a number on a scale? I'm ditching the scale and focusing on how I feel and LOOK.

I noticed that when I first started I lost weight quick but then it kinda slows. But I think it's due to the body adjusting.

I've been focusing a lot more on weight training over the past 7 months and I LOVE IT! But I stepped on the scale and realized that even though I have gone from a tight size 12 to in between a size 8-10, I actually have gained 8lbs. But I look and feel a TON better...

    My advice... DITCH THE SCALE!

honestly it depends on how you train - if you do a bunch of reps at a lower weight, with the last coupe of reps being challenging for you, you'll build nice lean muscle mass and tone up your body. i do weight training and i've lost 18 pounds in the last 2 and 1/2 months, and it's great cause i'm not just losing weight I'm also getting stronger.

To gain strength and tone, it is best to do 3 sets of 4-6 reps at heavier weights.

2 to 3 sets of 12-20 reps ..if you're getting up into the 20 reps and you're able to do this for 3 sets... the weight isn't challenging enough.

A very popular book for women and weight lifting is New Rules of Lifting for Women.
    http://www.amazon.com/New-Rules-Lifting-Women-Goddess/dp/1583333398/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1329643322&sr=1-1

read the reviews to get an idea.

4-6 reps is kinda power lifting. I would suggest starting more like 10-12 reps and mixing in some heavier weights at the lower 4-6 reps later. Pick a weight where you can just barely finish the set.

This is not true. You can't 'tone' your muscles or your body. You can reduce your fat which will SHOW your muscles. But you can't and won't change your muscle shape. It's not possible.

I'm waiting to see my results from weight lifting. Despite losing a lot of weight I'm still quite big. I've started lifting through NROLFW and I'm terrified it's going to slow down my weight loss. But I'm sticking to it for a month and then re-evaluating.
