Nutrition bars that suit your taste....Love the different wa
Choose ingredient options, one from each of the several categories below, to custom make a nutrition bar that suits your taste. Mix all ingredients together. Press evenly into an 8 or 9inch pan sprayed with nonstick cooking spray. Refrigerate to firm bars. Makes 16.
1.Grain(2cups)
old-fashioned oats
quick oats
crisp brown rice cereal
granola
2.Sweetener(3/4cup)
honey
agave nectar
brown rice syrup
pure maple syrup
3.Nut butter(1cup)
natural peanut butter
amond butter
cashew butter
sunflower nut butter
4.Seeds or wheat product(1cup of any except 1/4chia seeds)
ground flaxseed
whole sesame seeds
unprocessed wheat bran
wheat germ
pepitas(pumpkin seeds)
chia seeds
5.Powdered Protein
vanilla whey protein powder
nonfat dry milk powder
6.Nuts or chips(1cup)
chopped walnuts
almonds
cashews
sunflower nuts
dark chocolate chips
carob chips
7.Dried fruit(1cup)
raisins
dried cherries
dried cranberries
dried goji berries
chopped dried apricots
chopped dates
chopped prunes
chopped figs
(i used sun-maid mixed fruit and cut it up)

I'm going to have to try plugging some different versions into the recipe calorie calculator. I made homemade granola protein bars one time but they ended up being 250 calories for a very small bar. They were pretty good but not worth the calories for the size that they were.0

With all different ways to make these its easier to go to the recipe builder and add what u used to figure each one out. I made one that was 210cals, one that 310 cals, one that was 250cals so it all depends on what u use. Yes that may seem like alot of cals but they r good cals and fill u up. I ate one for breakfast yesterday and forced myself to eat later. These r good for u cals not junk cals.0 -
