Muay thai training diet plan help

My partner is starting muay thai training again this week after being off for a while with an injury. He is wanting to lose a bit of weight and hoping to get in the ring eventually but is having a bit of trouble finding a good diet plan to go with his training regime. He is wanting to lose fat first and then gain muscle. I'm hoping someone out there might have a bit of experience in this area and help recommend a good diet plan?
