With my work and family schedule, joining a gym just isn't realistic at this point. I have done Walk Away the Pounds to death and would love to try something new. Anyone have any recommendations for some fun exercise DVDs - particularly aerobics? Would love to hear your recommendations and why you like that particular DVD. Thanks in advance!

I like Jillian Michael's, her Ripped in 30 and 30 Day Shread both have 3 to 4 workouts per Dvd, they are circuit training and all the workouts are about 30 min. Banish Fat Boost Metabolism and No more Trouble Zones are a little more aerobic, but still set up in circuits with 55 min workouts.
yoga meltdown is good as well, not a typical yoga workout, a little of a hybrid Dvd is about 40 min. The best thing about them is that they are all around $10!
    Hope that helps!!
  • I have thought about trying the 30 day shred, but is it really hard? I bought a Biggest Loser cardio dvd once and it kicked my butt...I was too out of shape to do most anything on there. Granted I have lost 71lbs now, but I am still not anywhere near fit!
Thanks for your suggestions, I will have to try them!

If you are looking for something that will give you a good workout, but isn't too hard, I recommend Power 90. It is made by the same guy who does P90X, but is designed for beginners. I used it about a year ago and now I'm on to the series right before P90X.

The trainer on the DVDs is Tony Horton. I enjoy him because he is funny and likes to have fun during the workouts. If you are interested send me a message. My sister is a personal trainer and a Beachbody coach. I can give you a link to her site so you can ask her questions and she can coach you through on whatever program you choose.

It is a hard workout, but its only 25 min, she claims you can do anything for 25 min! lol!
There are 3 levels so you can start a little slower. She is stingy with modified versions... but there are some, and other ways you can modify on your own if need be. I made my husband workout with me a few time and there was one cardio move he hated and just couldn't get, so he would just do jumping jacks. As long as you keep moving.
Also if you go through the message board it seems like there is always a group starting up to do 30DS and RI30, its nice to be able to log the workout, stay accountable and motivated and to complain about moves you hate
Plus, its ten bucks... so if you hate it, your only out ten bucks.

One other thought... I have recently found that my local library has many workout DVDs to borrow for FREE.... might be a great place to experiment with different types of workouts before you commit.

    Have Fun!!

My Wife bought a DVD a few years back by "The Firm" (FirmDirect). The best one she has ever had she still uses it now. Biggest issue was family life made it difficult to go to gym, so she got this DVD and her view is it is the best she has ever had. Also it says you will notice a change within 10 regular sessions and I can say that we did notice. :)
My wife loved the one with Alison - Ultimate Fat Burning Workout

You can find their DVDs at Amazon
