I woke up today and saw an increase on the scale, which had come along with my monthly friend. Its this normal, or should I be discouraged? I really don't know! anyone else have this happen???

    Totally normal.
  • I consider that normal. I don't put much thought into my weight around that time of the month because it goes up and down so much it becomes discouraging. Just keep chugging along... don't let it get you down! :)
  • Do you alter your diet and exorcise at all during that time? Or sould I just, do like normal and it goes away when its over?

Yup totally normal, I started yesterday, and my scale has reached a 6lb gain, just today. I knew it would happen just means next week I'll lose about 8lbs lol.

It's normal. I've had an increase of 6lbs before, it went completely within 4-5 days. I now don't weigh in during that time.

I don't change anything about my diet and exercise.

I wouldn't worry about it. I consistently gain about 5-8 lbs every month right before my period....but like clockwork, it all drops off and I'm back to my normal weight by the time my period is done with.

I do not change my diet, actually I find myself hungrier and sometimes I'll eat a few of my work out calories when I normally wouldn't, but that's about the only change. I also find myself getting like the weight watcher chocolate sundaes or skinny cow ice in chocolate whatever, because chocolate is screaming for me. But other then that, my diet doesn't change, and I still workout like I normally would.

    Working out helps my cramps.

I think its something normal. If you can just continue on with your exercising routine, it's supposed to help with cramps (it still hasn't really for me) but it does take your mind off of it. Good luck and hope yours doesn't last too long :)
  • Love skinny cow, I have recently taken out my IUD so I haven't had this issue for over a year! I'm so glad I'm not gaining for real. I was so upset.

It's not "Healthy" but it's lower in calories and helps me lol. I had my IUD taken out 2 years ago and then 2 months of getting it out I found out I was pregnant LOL.
  • This is my hope :) husband and I are debating baby #3

I always thought it was Miss Monthly, or Mrs. Monthly. I guess Ms. Monthly would be the politically correct term, right?
  • Normal. My lowest is 5 lbs of excess, my highest has been 10.. no joke.

Ever since I got my iud put in my tom has been awful. There is about two weeks a month that I just don't weigh in because of that...sometimes
  • This made me feel so much better today.

I was so stoked I got in the 170's about 3 days ago and hopped on the scale this morning and I went from 178 to 183 :( It's definitely discouraging, but I am due for my TOM any day, so I guess it IS normal. It sucks, but it's normal.

    What?! "Mister" Monthly?

We men take a LOT of crap over stuff, some of it rightly so.... but since when did we start having to take the wrap for this too...?
  • Same for me, goes up about 3 pounds at least. I tend to eat different food beforehand but once it starts I often lose my appetite because of pain. I heard drinking plenty of water helps so I've been trying to do that.

Every month about 7 days prior I get an EXACT 3 lbs weight gain.

I love it because since I stay loyal to my food plan when my monthly visitor leaves I have a greater weight loss. jejeje

I saw a 2 lb. weight gain and I got mine a week early...grrrr......I'm also almost 41 and probably going through perimenopause and so think I'm in for some fun times. Ordinarily, I gain about 2-3 lbs. of water weight and lose it + one more the next week.

This made me feel so much better. The scale jumped 5lbs for the past 2 days, and this morining there he was. On top of that my cravings have been horrible! But I will keep going. although, I honestly don't feel like working out. : (

Yup,normal. This week I didn't see a weight loss cuz was that time. I waited a few days then saw a 2lb loss. I reduce my sodium intake and put some lemon in my water . It seems to help a little with water retention and bloating.
  • "Mr" monthly? Really? Don't find my moontime male at all. I know it's just a word, but language has power. As anyone who has been called the c word can testify to. On topic, I do notice that when it is close to my "moontime" I gain weight, sometimes up to 5 pounds which usually stays until I'm done bleeding.
  • I don't know why I used Mr, but I didn't mean anything by it. Just a play on words :))
