Toe pain

Hi all..............I have had the problem of toe pain for years.........ingrown toenails and other issues really make my hikes and walks a pain. I bought some new boots this fall, and I love them........but no matter what socks I wear, they seem to "scrunch" up in the boots and cause pressure on my toes.
I've tried seamless toe socks, thicker socks, thinner socks...............nothing seems to help!!! I'm almost thinking NO socks would be better than this pressure on my big toes.
Anyone else have this problem, and what do you DO about it???

I get that sometimes and actually leave some extra 'toe' in the sock before putting the shoe on. You could try it indoors perhaps, before venturing out.0
