Hi my name is Tera and I have been fighting my weight since I had my daughters 6 and 7 years ago. This year I am determined to get below 200lbs and have been working very hard on my goals. While counting my calories on my phone I have been getting the same message every day. I don't eat enough. I have never been a very big eater. I usually consume about 1,000 calories a day, but dont see the point in eating more when I am not hungry. I have been trying to do the small meals several times a day, but I work in fast food as a manager and I do not have many chances to sneak off to eat throughout my shifts. I have been steadily losing weight each week but they are very small amounts. I was up to almost 270 when I started using the app the first time and have brought that down since, but my goal is to be under 200 by my birthday in July. I am more determined this year than anytime I have tried to loose weight before. I am ready for a new me :-)

I've gotten that message every day since I joined. You are about to get hit with 100 posts telling you that you will put your body into starvation mode and not lose the weight. I won't argue with them, I will just say:
The second was taken about 15 lbs. ago. If that is not losing weight because I was "in starvation mode" I'll take it. Happily.0 -

The reason you want to eat more, is that it's unlikely you are getting in adequate amounts of fats and protein for your weight at that caloric intake. And why in the world would you be trying to eat mult small meals a day if it makes your life less convenient? There is no metabolic advantage to increased meal frequency0 -
First off congrats on the loss of 28lbs so far, that is a great accomplishment! I also started this weighing 265 and my goal is to be around 200 by June-July, I am sure that we can both do it. Yes you are not eating enough (atleast I dont think you are), try to push yourself to eat atleast 1200 cals a day. I know it sounds crazy but when I eat atleast 1600 cals per day I seem to drop weight faster. Good luck and stay positive, you can do this!!0

N=1, using your weight loss as a good reason why it's ok to eat 1,000 cals consistently is not a very good reason. And people totally misunderstand starvation mode, and it seems you do too0 -

I did not say I wanted to eat more, I said I was full and didnt see the point in eating more. I try to eat more times a day to try to get my calorie intake up a little bit. When I am able to eat several small amounts throughout the day I do manage to make it to 1200 a day, which is when the app stops telling me I am eating too little.0 -
This may sound narky, but I'll ask it anyway. What exactly was the point of this thread?
You told us that you are eating 1000 cals per day, are you seeking justification of your actions, or would you like some feedback from people about how you could consume more calories without feeling too full???
I am just not sure how to respond to this.0 -
Our stats are similar. I work out 60 - 90 minutes a day (half of that walking, half higher intensity). I was eating around 1300 calories (not eating my exercise calories) and losing VERY slowly. After reading more on here I upped my calories to 1800 - 2000 a day (whole, natural foods) since my BodyMedia Fit was telling me I was burning between 3400 and 3600 calories a day, and have been losing 2 -3 pounds a week since. I'm not saying it will work for you, and maybe it's only working for me because I'm exercising so much, but it may be worth a try if your slow loss is frustrating you to eat a little more and see what happens.0

I understand that and i pointed out one reason to eat more, perhaps changing your mind that there is no point in eating more.0
