Just A Question

Okay I am REALLY not trying to sound like a mean person here!

People are ALWAYS on the forums saying "I've just started MFP and I can't eat 1200 calories a day, it's too much!".

Am I the only one that thinks it's a bit odd that these people ended up overweight in the first place? I have to be missing something.

My guess is that it is usually people who have gone from eating high calorie processed stuff and have made an extreme change to "healthy eating" (ie. chicken breasts and steamed veggies) where the cals are dramatically lower for a similar volume of food.
But, I've never had that problem!

Before , I started MPF I could eat more than 2,000 calories easily .

But now that I'm watching what I am eating is hard to meet my daily calorie goal (1,300) .

I have only reach it twice but I have never been a food eater , I liked having candy and other junk plus being lazy. There was a time in my life that I had less than 200 calorie a day for about 6 months and I was rarely hungry , is psychological .

Yeah, I eat 1600 (my current BMR) and I have a hard time staying under that with veggies, fruits and lean meats!

I think part of it is just watching food intake and then just eating dramatically less food.
Such as you start eating less and maybe only when you're hungry or something...

    I don't get it. :ohwell:

I'll admit that I am overweight but I do have a hard time eating the 1,200 calories a day. I didn't eat a large volume of food but I was eating an incredible amount of food with high calories and just empty calories... I never felt full so I would eat something sweet to get my blood sugar up so I'd feel better and it would end up being high in calories. Now that I'm trying to stay away from bread unless it is a low carb high fiber I feel full so much faster!!! I am eating way more fruits and veggies than I was before and with the whole grain high fiber I get to about 1,000 calories and struggle to get the last 200 in. The way I was eating before made me overweight and I ate way more, plus, I never felt full... now I feel full almost all the time :)High fiber foods have made the difference I think and I love the way I feel now!!!
