chafing

so how many of you ladies have had to deal with chafing? a friend of mine is training for a marathon and is dealing with this right now....any suggestions of what she can do to treat it and prevent it?...

    when i played rugby, i used deodorant. sounds silly, but it worked. that or vaseline or powder. they do make an anti-chaif ointment that you can find at a drug store, but honestly, deodorant does the trick too.

    Spandex shorts under running shorts solves the problem.
  • I had a chafing problem when running and I started using Bodyglide and that worked perfectly for me.

    I use under armor to prevent and A & D ointment to treat any chafing.
  • I chafe frequently between my thighs. The best treatment I've used is good old A+D ointment. Apply liberally before bed and it should be all cleared up by morning.

    The best prevention, as scottb said, is keeping the area from rubbing on either clothes or other skin. Spandex, or other long and tight fitting garments should do the trick.
