I started my healhty eating on January 2nd and so far I have lost 2 lbs! But then the weekend comes and my daughters 3rd bday was this weekend! I do so great during the week, but for some reason the weekends are extra hard. Birthdays are even harder. I have alot of trigger foods and once I have them my will power goes out the door! Does anyone have any advice on how they get through these days? Sometimes i feel like I have to completely avoid these foods just untill I have more will power. I'm on a mission to loose 100 lbs! Please help!

i try to pre plan these days. the first week i had to pre plan a day ahead of time so i did not go over but now i know how much i can have and am doing good. so if you know a birthday is coming up and you want cake and icecream and/or pizza. try logging a day ahead of time so you can "play" with your cal's. start with what ever indulgance you are going to have and work backwards. it might mean a salad for lunch and cheerios for breakfast.
this weekend we had a UFC party. i knew we were going. i knew there would be snack foods during the fight. and as much as i would like to be able to not eat the snacks i knew i was going to. so i ate light all day and had some extra cals to use during the fight. i did go over a little but not as bad as i had just ate whateve i wanted all day.0 -

I agree with the other poster about planning ahead and keeping your other meals that day light. That said, I have learned to also go to parties and just take a little bit of everything that I want to try (and I mean a tiny bit) and then whatever is my favorite I will go back and get a little more of. And when it comes time for cake...the smallest piece you can get. The first bite or two is always the best, so why go beyond that size?0

no magic there... just matters how much u want what ur going after... you got only 1 thing... self-diciplin!!!!0

The thing is, there will *always* be birthdays, and holidays, etc. and you have to be prepared on those days, just as you are every other day of the year. If I know that I am going to an event/party/dinner, then I exercise more on that day to build up extra calories in my bank, and I eat light for the other meals so that I still have an allotment left so that I can have a (small) piece of cake, or a glass of wine, or whatever it is.0
