Weigh in different times of day

This may be more of a rant than anything. But I am part of a city-wide weight loss competition with some friends. Our first weigh-in was last week, in the morning. This week, its from 5-8pm AT NIGHT. My goal is 2 lbs a week since I dont have much to lose. I can easily be up 2 lbs by the end of the day. Shoot, sometimes, depending on what i eat, being up on my feet all day, etc, I can be up 5 lbs.

By the time I go to weigh-in, I would have already been up for 16 hours, been on my feet all day at work and had breakfast and lunch.

My team is just putting so much pressure on me to LOSE, LOSE, LOSE. And if I dont show a loss or even worse, a gain this week, I dont want them disappointed.

The thing is, I know i have lost this week. I can feel it. The tape measure proves it.

OK, rant over.

  • Yes, I do believe you are right. Weighing at different times during the day can give you an incorrect weight. They say it is best to weigh yourself first thing in the morning, after you use the bathroom, and before you've had anything to eat or drink. If you are waiting until the end of the day, you have everything you've ate and drank that day that you haven't digested yet. Doesn't seem fair to your goal. You'd think they would stick with one time period, being morning or evening, and weight everyone at the same time each time.
