Measurements

I am not sure if I've lost any inches, I believe I may of lost an inch or two off of my hips and maybe an inch on my waist. I took them back in January but I can't exactly remember although I took them again today first time since then and I believe the two are lower by at least 1 inch each. Now I am wondering what are "average" inches and where can I find them to know what I "should" be at?

There is no average measurement.
everyone's different, there are lots of different shapes out there so one woman, even if she is the same height and weight as you, may have a 28 inch waist while another has a 34inch waist. allllllllllll different shapes and sizes.0 -
There must be ideal measurements for a woman right??0

There must be ideal measurements for a woman right??
nope. That would depend on whose ideal right, since everyone finds something different attractive. I've read that as a woman, your waist should be no larger than 30 inches, for health reasons but who knows how true that is.0 -
okay thanks anyways but I did a search online and most websites I look at claim that the "ideal measurements" for a woman are 36-24-36!0

That comes from the 18 hour bra and girdle sales people!0

Ya know, I read that and a line from a rap song (which I can't remember the name of!) popped into my head!!
I've always been told that your bust and your hips should be 2 inches larger than your waist, but all of my doctors swear their is no "ideal measurement" for a woman simply because everyone is different.0 -
36-24-36??
Well maybe if we're talking 1950's beauty magazines!
Interesting Measurements:
-According to Size USA, women's measurements in 2004 averaged 40 inches in the bust, 34 inches in the waist and 43 inches in the hips.
-In 1941, the average woman's measurements were about 35"-27"-37".
-Barbie's measurements if she were life size: 39"-23"-33"
-Marilyn Monroe's measurements at 5' 5" tall were 35"-22"-35".
-Cindy Crawford at 5' 9": 34"-26"-35"
-Selma Hayek is 5' 2": 36", 25", 27"
-Angelina Jolie is 5' 8" and measures: 36"-27"-36"
-Christina Hendricks stands 5' 8" tall and her measurements are 36" 32" 36".
-Jennifer Lopez's measurements are 34"-38"-38". She's 5'5"
These are all women I consider to be gorgeous...and not one of them share the same measurements. Beauty can't be measured in inches and I hope you stop trying to do so!'Ya know, I read that and a line from a rap song (which I can't remember the name of!) popped into my head!!0 -

Oh, and the rap song you probably heard that from was Sir Mix-A-Lot's "Baby Got Back"....or at least that was the first one that popped into my head. Oh that 5th grade school dance is coming back to me...
Ha!
The rest of that line says, "36 - twenty fo - 36....only if she 5'3"!!!"0 -
I think that it depends on how good you feel about how much weight you've lost and just being proud of all you've accomplished.0

The waist measurement I heard of, is that to be "healthy" it should not be more than half of your height.
for example: I'm 5'9" (69"), so my waist should not be above 34.5". I heard this from Dr. Oz.
looks like I have a way to go- I'm at 39". This measurement should be taken at your true waist- bellybutton level, and Dr. Oz said feel free to suck it in, so that's how I take my measurements0 -
Thanks for that interesting information about your waist being half your weight!0

That reminds me, I need to go re-log my measurements.0
