I work in a health food store and everyday I get people who come in asking questions about how to cheat being healthy.

You cannot cheat health. You can't get healthy without being healthy. Eating vegetables, fruit, fiber, less sugar, less bad fats and more good fats, drinking enough water and avoiding alcohol and getting enough exercise are all necessary parts of being healthy and looking healthy.

There is no reason to diet. Dieting does not last forever, so any changes you may see from a diet will disappear as soon as the diet ends. You need to make changes to your lifestyle that will last forever so that the benefits of a healthy lifestyle will also last forever.

So stop trying to trick your body into being healthy; just BE healthy. It's very simple. The healthier you are, the healthier you will want to be. Cravings for junk are often signs of deficiencies, so if you notice a craving for sugar, chocolate, grease, remember that if you take the steps to having a healthy lifestyle, those junky foods won't be as appealing and a healthy lifestyle will be much easier.

Also, a healthy lifestyle does not mean you can never indulge; it does not mean you have to give up those sinful treats for the rest of your life. Just make sure they are not part of your daily routine.

If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask.

Well I couldn't have agreed more with you on this.
I really think that if you have a craving for junks then surely your body is lacking something ...
I was never in for diets but I would like to add , that fasting one day a week is a great practice, this cleans your body from toxins and lifts up the excess burden of your body. As per the Indian Culture ( being Indian ) this was a regular feature of Indian women's life - just to keep their bodies healthy. But now as we THINK we are getting modern - we are leaving these behind ..... I am one of them .... but from next month i.e April - I am going to fast on every Thursday - and stay healthy !!! As you said its all about making those small changes in our lives to stay healthy as long as we can :)

Thanks for sharing your thoughts

that's an interesting concept, one that i wouldn't mind trying out. i remember my indian friend fasting everyone once in a while. do you know how it works? is it effective? i've always heard that fasting is a metabolism-killer.
