Started C25K Today

I saw C25K mentioned on MFP the other day and started looking into it. I found the app for my iphone so I thought I'd give it a try. Today was Week 1, Day 1. It was a lot harder than I thought it would be but I got through it. I ended, with warm-up and cool-down, doing 1.97 miles in 30 minutes, which at my weight burns about 187 calories. It wasn't fun while I was doing it but I feel a lot better now that it's over. :happy:

  • you've peaked my interest - i'm looking this up. I almost hate dancey DVD workouts.

    I don't see myself as a long-term runner. I broke my right leg just above the knee many years ago and my leg stopped growing. My right leg is about 1 1/2 inches shorter than my left and it can cause lots of problems (back, knee, hips) if I'm not careful. Running too much can aggravate it but 5K should be okay. More than anything I want to improve my endurance and running does that very well. I'm trying to undo years of damage from smoking.
