Hi my name is Seth and I'm looking for a group of friends to help me keep the path. I was 448-450ish on Dec. 31, my scale tilts at 450. I am in serious need of a lifestyle change which I believe I might have found here. My goal is 200 lbs. Right Now I'm down 30 lbs by walk/Jogging and really cutting my diet, Around 1000 Cal. per day. I've been reading the site for a couple day and joined last Friday.
I have a postal business that keeps me pretty busy during the day but not really anything to assertive and at night I'm a kid mostly playing with my children and later on the playstation or watching TV with the wife. The 30 mintues in the morning is about the only real exercise I get.
I have a great wife and kids who support me but my wife is thin and my kids are young, so she really doesn't get why it's so hard to eat salid, turkey burgers or Tofu ( what is that anyways).LOL Anyways I would love to have a few friends to bounce my thought and idea's off of and I'll always be available to do the same for you.

Hi Seth! I added you already and hope we can support each other! Sounds like you are doing well already! It's good you are walking and are trying to eat more healthily. MFP certainly helps with that portion A LOT!
How are you able to eat 1,000 calories a day though? Are you skipping meals or just having extremely small portions? I have reduced mine to 2,000 a day and have still been losing. I also feel pretty good without feeling like I'm starving myself, yet I definitely am cutting back. I don't think I would be able to do 1,000 calories a day.
At that low a calorie goal, I would worry about losing the weight too fast. Only because when people do lose very fast, they often gain it back . Or they end up having a lot of loose skin if they start out very overweight/obese. I want to lose weight quickly, but like you, I have 100+ pounds to lose. I just want to do it healthily and not end up having a lot of loose skin. Ideally, you are supposed to shoot for 2lb weight loss per week.
What kinds of meals are you having? How are you doing with the 1,000 calorie goal?0 -

You Know I was eating very little, I would eat a Subway ham/egg white flat bread 300 cal with coffee for breakfast. Turkey sub(no cheese) for lunch and a healthy choice frozen dinner. I was hungry all day and quite unhappy. I guess it was lack of knowledge my calorie intake should be much higher and now that I'm closer to where I should be, im happier and I hope the Lbs will keep coming off.0 -
