Greek yogurt is an acquired taste

So, this is only the 2nd time I've had it. The first time I tried Dannon Oikos with strawberries. Now I'm trying Chobano with black cherries.
I didn't like the Dannon brand, but Chobano seems to be a bit better. I think it might take me a while to get used to the texture of Greek Yogurt.
Is there any brands better than Chobano?

I buy the stoneyfield organic or liberte, both full fat. I add frozen berries, some grownd flax, and generally some walnuts.0

Fage is awesome but I'm not sure if it comes in flavors. I just buy the plain and add honey or cinnamon and vanilla.0

Chobani definately has a better texture. Also, the plain chobani is great in a smoothie.0

I buy Fage 0% (they sell the big containers at Costco for a decent price) and flavor it with sugar-free cherry jello powder. I also use it as a sour cream substitute.0

Homemade is best! Its really easy( crockpot easy). You can strain it as long as you want to get a ton of whey out which is the tanginess . I am not real fond of the tanginess. Anyway, You can find the recipe on www.crockpot365.blogspot.com. I have a hard time eating the store bought though I can eat the Oikos blueberry or Aldi brand blueberry.0

It is definitely an acquired taste/texture. I have tried the greek yogurt that comes with fruit in it and I don't think it tastes very good. The best addition I have found so far is to mix in a tablespoon of honey and a sprinkle of slivered almonds. Delish!0

I really like fage! I add a little bit of splenda and its so yummy:-)0

I like Fage. I mix it with damson jam and cinnamon .0

My favorite is plain Chobani with granola mixed in. The lemon flavored one tastes like dessert to me so I eat that as a treat. I mix granola in that one too.0

put some honey in it! changes the whole taste, love it!0

I'm liking the Chobani but I prefer the even thicker consistency of Fage.0

I like mixing the Liberte natural greek yogurt with some vanilla protein powder instead of getting the flavored yogurt which could be loaded with sugar and fats0

I really like the Fage or Greek Gods.0

I love the chobani mango!!!0

great idea!0

Have you tried the Oikos which has a layer of honey at the bottom of the pot? I think it's delicious. A lot of people have suggested adding honey to plain Greek yogurt, so with that variety of Oikos you just need to stir it up.0

Did you buy the dannon oikos with strawberry already in it, or added your own? Because I find the blended ones (strawberry, raspberry, key lime) to be HEAVENLY, lol! But I've realized they are high in sugar so I'm going to try to switch to plain and add fresh fruit of my own.0

Fage is the best in my opinion I like the Cherry Pomegranate only 130 calories for the container.0

Yes!! love this one0 -
I just tried it for the first time the other day and love it. I am currently eating Oikos but will be looking into trying other brands to find a favourite.0

my husband and I just started eating the chobani on a regular basis and I really like it! I like the texture of the greek yogurt much better.... not a fan of the apple/cinnamon though....
I'm not a fan of yogurt, but I really don't have trouble eating the chobani with the fruit on the bottom0 -
I agree with you, it was an aquired taste. I did a bunch of research before I made the leap to greek. The stuff I was reading about the amounts of calcium, vs sugars and calories, chobani was the best for having the most protiens, with the least amount of added sugars and sufficient calcium. I add granola or ground flax seedto mine and I can't ever imagine going back to plain yogurt again.
enjoy.0 -
chobani pineapple is a daily snack for me! i love it!0

I don't particularly love the texture, and the taste is a bit...um...not sour, but different from regular yogurt. I personally like it as a substitute for sour cream or mayonnaise.0

The Greek yogurt brand the honey vanilla is the best. I add some slivered almonds. Yumm-o!!0

I like both Chobani and Dannon Oikos pretty much evenly - I love Chobani Strawberry Banana and Raspberry the most. Yoplait makes a Greek yogurt that may be more of a middle ground for you, but it's not really Greek yogurt (ie, it's not really strained like Fage, Chobani and Oikos; rather, it's thickened with protein powder and gelatin). It also tends to be higher in sugar and sodium.
If you don't like it but do like regular yogurt, stick with what works for you and find your extra protein in other sources.0 -

I agree, I only eat Fage Pom Cherry and 2% Cherry"........heaven!0 -
i love oikos. I've tried strawberry and key lime. And I just got a blackberry, but haven't tried it yet.
Sometimes instead of granola or walnuts I add cheerios or whole hearts by quaker as a treat. It's yummo!0
