I'll join you but I have one problem- the scale is dead- I think that it got tired after two weeks of yo-yo. I think that I can find a scale at school.
I had back surgery and I couldn't exercise for 6 weeks:grumble: - I just started walking with my students again this week.
I'll be in the woods with the Girl Scouts next weekend- I am cooking for the leaders- I get to cook healthy that way.
I get to go back to Taekwondo in17 days (April 1) then I will be too sore to eat much
Biggest problem I see on the horizon is Spring Break- I think that I will paint the bathroom, go to a Special Olympics Track meet, take the Girl Scouts on a trip and see what other exercise I can do:bigsmile:0 -

Welcome BlackBeltLJ :flowerforyou:
Here's to a speedy recovery :drinker:0 -
Challenge time
I challenge everyone to exercise for at least 30 minutes a day for the next week.
Remember to drink your water guys :drinker:
Feel freeto add more challenges for usall to join in with :drinker:0 -
Ok the exercise challenge is good - the water challenge I struggle with. Keep me accountable, motivated, and any suggestions for getting it down. I do not like adding a lemon to it either.0
-
I walked round the car boot sales today, walking/browsing for 1 hour and 20 minutes and burnt up 195 calories :drinker:
Seem to have a lot of get up and go today, so I'm going to use my mini bike next
I've lost 3lbs this week - thanks for the support guys:drinker:

Lisa...hmmm, what can I say, add lime, strawberries or apple instead? or even a cordial?
I used to hate water, can't get enough these days, in fact, when I go visiting people, and they ask what I'd like to drink, they offer tea, coffee, hot chocolate, I say oh just water please - I get some funnny looks
I used to be addicted to cups of tea, diet coke, but now, I drink 1-3 cups of lemon tea a day, and 5+ pints of cold water - I prefer it cold as it seems to taste completely different.0 -
Get yourself a 32oz water bottle (or 1L) and Tell yourself that you will drink one before you can have lunch and one before the 6pm meal- guess what that is 8 glasses. You also have to drink that water before other drinks during the same time periods. Another sure way is to always drink a glass of water at every meal or snack- before you eat. If fills you up some as well gives you the water you need.
Now where did I just leave my water bottle?:frown:0 -

And if like me, you don't like water warm, keep the bottle in the fridge, whenever you want a drink, get up and walk to the fridge, don't ask someone else to get it that way, you get more exercise :drinker:0 -
Thanks for the suggestion Jackie and BlackbeltLJ. I appreciate it. Got up to 7 and a half yesterday. Gonna shoot for the eight today. Keeping my 32 0unce in the refrig and pouring it over ice each time does help. Jackie I do that with my phone too. Put it where I have to walk to get it when it rings.0

Okay the scale works- I don't. I gained 9lbs since surgery- yikes.
so her are my stats.
Started: April 2008- 243 lbs
Now: Mar 16- 212
Goal: 180 (Dr.'s goal is 160 so I compromise and say 175)0 -

Good morning Jackie, :flowerforyou:
I hope your ok??
For the first time ever since being on MFP i have entered an entire weeks worth of food and exercise before - so this is going to be interesting to see how well i will do..
Everyday i will print off what i should be eating and exercising, so it will be easier for me to follow each day instead of entering extra food the day after or missing out on exercise that i should have done..
Sooo wish me luck!!
1 month till my Ireland trip - 5lbs to loose :indifferent: i hope i do it!!!

Afternoon Katherine :flowerforyou:
Sounds like a good plan to me, let us know how you get on.
:drinker: GOOD LUCK :drinker:
As for the 5lbs to lose, you could always wrap up in lots of thick clothing and go running - sweat it out big time if all else fails
I did another 2 hour walk today - without my dog - don't think she's forgiven me yet :laugh:0 -
Truth or fact: lifting weights causes women to bulk up......
While on a weight lifting program, the right hormones (testosterone) are necessary in order to bulk up. Women’s testosterone levels are much lower than men’s, so in most cases, they are not capable of building large muscles. In fact, since muscle takes up less room than fat, women tend to lose inches when they strength train. So in addition to the physical benefits (increased metabolism, decreased risk of osteoporosis, increased strength), strength training will help you slim down too! Women, in fact, are more likely to tone up from strength training rather than bulk up. Research shows that women can add up to 30% lean muscle and end up looking thinner, feeling stronger and being firmer.
Our society and pop culture seem to associate weight training with oversized muscles, but that’s just one avenue, which is extremely difficult for most people (including men) to achieve.
Women with an intense fear of becoming large (likely due to these images and myths) as a result of weight training are at a disadvantage when it comes to their health. The problem most women run into isn’t building too much muscle, but not building enough. This sets them up for increased risk of osteoporosis later in life, as well as a reduction in muscle mass of about 2-5% per year, which has an adverse affect on metabolism (and can result in weight gain).
So come on ladies, I wanna see those muscules flexing :drinker:0 -

Nice one Katherine :drinker:
I only walked to my local shop this morning, I got a merit in my Criminology course, which has inspired me to continue to the next assignment :drinker: Needless to say, I haven't had much time to go walking due to this, so I got the step machine out for 20 minutes and burnt 163 calories, and burnt 92 calories walking to my local shop :drinker:
I'm going to sit and read some more this afternoon, and I was thinking of using my exercise bike a bit later - it's a lovely sunny day here today, one I'd love to walk in, but I've got so much I need to do, so it'll be a day at home for me instead. Although, I will sit in the garden with my books for a while :happy:0 -

Kathy
Hi Kathy :flowerforyou:
Well done for completing the DVD, and I love your new song
I hate doing housework, but unfortunately, if we don't do it, it won't get done hun :flowerforyou:
My hubby seems to think our house is part of the Star Trek Enterprise, and can self-clean!
He is also under the illusion that I have nothing better to do all day at the moment than to stay on the phone for a whole hour each day talking to him at lunch time - to keep him company!
I keep telling myself that one of these days I will sit on my back side all day, just to see how I get on, but after 10 minutes, I get the fidgets and just have to find something to do:blushing:
Jackie0 -
Good Morning Jackie:flowerforyou:
I'm glad you like my new song.
Love this
"My hubby seems to think our house is part of the Star Trek Enterprise, and can self-clean! laugh laugh laugh " So true:noway: :noway:
Ya, we have to do the house work. I don't mind it but, I have to be so quiet about it because my hubby works nights and sleeps most of the day. I like to move things around that's hard to do when someone is sleeping in the house. I do not have a large home. Oh well. a light bulb came on an at least I can use an Ipod to keep me motivated.
I love your discription
Hope you enjoy your day0 -
Morning Kathy
I can't be quiet whilst doing the housework :noway: Blimmie talk about mission impossible
I had a bad evening yesterday, I ate chocolate and a couple of sandwiches - taking me 50 calories over - after eating all my exercise calories:blushing: and therefore I'm sure I put on a pound or two, but I'm not weighing until Sunday, kinda hoping it'll balance itself out
Had to take a sleeping pill last night as not been able to sleep properly for almost a week, trouble is, I feel really deflated today
I might just take a rest day today, and try to do as little as possible, hmmm, worth a try!0 -
Morning Jackie... :flowerforyou:
Just read your post.. hey its one day! you will be fine, just do good today and you will be right on track.. as for me i did the same.. happily eating my exercise cals yesterday.... well not all of them, only to go out on a date and have 3 small glasses of Rose... going a couple of hundred over my cals..oops.. (it was needed btw... he wasnt much of a talker) lol
Another day down the gym..(4th time this week).... Starting my bikathon training today! Cant wait to finally have a set routine at the gym instead of doing whatever i fancy!! :drinker:
So its a lovely sunny morning, and im feeling all bright and breezyish:laugh: (those glasses of wine have given me a fuzzy head) so im looking forward to the day! Food diary planned and a positive outlook on the day!
Good Luck

:flowerforyou: Good Morning All,
:flowerforyou: Jackie, I know about being quiet while house cleaning:grumble: . Not easy, Good thing he can’t hear as well. Lol.
Hey, just as :flowerforyou: Katherine said, it is only one day. Take it easy today and start again. That is the secret. We just can’t do it everyday. I hope you got the sleep you needed and get your rest. Hope to hear from you.
I have to say, I have messed up so much and sometimes I feel like a "broken record" because I am on here saying again and again. "I messed up, I will try again." BUT, it is working, IT IS A SLOW PROCESSES. But, I am doing it. This morning, I went into my closet, pulled out a pair of pants with tags on it that I had bought 2 years ago, Size: 12 misses. I was surprised that I could zip them and if the side pockets did not bulge a little, they would have looked great. My tummy needs work. BUT, if I did not keep going and stay on track for this past year, I just know I would have been in size 18's. So, just keep on going even if you feel like you sound like a "broken record". Boy, that is an old saying now, isn't it.
Go Jackie we need you!!!
:flowerforyou: Katherine. You are funny. Sorry, about your boring date. Funny.
Enjoy your exercise training and have a great sunny happy day. You sound like a very happy person.
:flowerforyou: Kathy0
