Hi all,
I added the shiny new title/invite to the subject. I figure we could add the invite for the next few days.
We'll still officially start the challenge tomorrow. . .it will last until Easter (April 12th)
Anyone that wishes to join, here we set goals (workout and lifestyle) and then hold each other accountable with a new thread every day. Most of us set "big picture" goals for the entire challenge, and then set our workout intentions for the day.
Here's mine for the day:
30 minutes on the elliptical at level 11. (shorter duration, higher intensity) I'm a little nervous that I'll still feel sick so I might have to come home and rest for the day afterwards, but I want to test the waters.
Hydrate.
Take care of yourselves!:flowerforyou:

3) Better food choices

Welcome deanea!
Hi V! How are you feeling today? Good morning to everyone else!
I went to a ballet last night, and realized I am too old to stay up that late anymore. It was good though.
I am determined to log my food and stay in calories today. May not get any exercise. I'm sore from yesterday anyway.
We have church this morning and lunch afterward. Other than that I may take a nap.
I hope you all have a good day!

Welcome Anne, good to see you again!
Today, I have to teach yoga then go to a wedding. I dislike life interfering with my exercise schedule.I don't know what I'm going to get in today. Yesterday, I went to a good morning yoga class and walked. We have a perfect weather forecast for the coming week, so I hope to get lots of exercise in. I will remind everyone this week that I'm not working and just taking the time to explore yoga practice - it's going to sound like mucho exercise.
CP - I get about 8000 steps without exercise. I know some tricks to getting extra steps - shopping racks them up like crazy - so does walking small errands. I don't know if you live in the city but walking to put your mail in a blue mailbox, not moving your car to go to different stores, going to the grocery store often, all rack up the steps. If you like to talk on the phone, make sure you walk around while doing so. Also, while I don't purposely park far away, I don't look around for a parking space. This helps both physically and mentally. I know the conversion for most exercises as well. Weights, for example, is 100 steps a minute.
MM - 93 push ups is still very, very impressive. Remember to impress yourself.
Happy workouts!0 -
SBF 2: Reboot Boogaloo!
Hi everybody! And welcome, Anne. Those are great goals. I've decided that I want to track mine with a chart on the fridge (I think a few other folks do that, too), so I am heading out to get some gold stars for myself.I am going to be doing a lot of running around today (errands), so I hope to get at least a reasonable number of steps in.
I have this book called 'The 12-Minute Workout' that splits up strength training into 3 different groups of body parts and then does each part twice a week. I am thinking I may try to add that to my routine in the morning (I am usually NOT a morning exerciser) so I can work on strength besides just the pushups (which I do at night). The last time I tried it, though, it took me more like 20-25 minutes, so we'll see if I can manage it in the AM. Maybe if I review the moves the night before.
OK, time to get to it. Happy workouts! :flowerforyou:0 -
Had pizza for lunch, so I only have 200 calories left for the day. I'm going to put Alex down and make myself go for a walk! I am determined to do this right! I know the challenge doesn't officially start tomorrow but why wait? It will be hard to get all my water in today though. I'll do my best!
I would be motivated to work out if I could pay myself, but the money would come out of the grocery budget, so that won't work. Mary and Vivia, are you still doing that? Maybe I could work something out with my hubby. Maybe if I work out 3-4X a week for a month I can have $50 at the end of the month or something. Hmmm. Don't know where the $50 will come from but hubby probably wouldn't have a problem with that.
Alright, time to go walk!

I find I don't need to do it anymore. I do have a thing with the new challenge that if I get 90% of my stars (one for each workout) I get to buy a purse I've had my eye on for almost a year.
Also, I'm getting a prize at the end of every successful week on my project (a small prize.)
I'm into stars and prizes lately.0 -

Never did. The fridge star chart usually works for me. I've also come to love exercise. I'm just on here because I like you guys so much :flowerforyou:0
