So I'm confused.

I reached my goal weight and decided to start maintaining rather than keep going to my ultimate goal weight bc i am getting married in July and picked up my dress in December (which was a little too big). I tried on my corset last night and oh my, it does not fit at all - too big! Good problem to have? Maybe.

I'm confused because... HOW do I continue to workout and do my pilates and finish the 30 day shred.. WITHOUT losing inches???? My fiance suggested to stop doing pilates and the 30 day shred ... but I don't want to get flabby!! I want to stay toned as I am WITHOUT losing more inches.

HOW DO I DO THIS? Please give me your suggestions/experiences. I am going to Davids Bridal today to be re-measured for my new corset and to try on my dress in the smaller size to see how it fits and if I should re-order it in the small size.. if it doesn't fit, obviously I will just keep the dress I have but I can't get any smaller (weight or inches) because it can't get too big bc it might not be able to be altered (too much beading I guess).

So again I ask - how do you continue to eat healthy, exercise, and do strength exercises (for me its pilates and 30 day shred) without losing more weight and inches??????????

Hi. how long ago did you switch to maintaining? I think quite a few people find that they overshoot once they have gone into maintenance mode - I did. If it has only been a couple of weeks, it's likely it will settle down, if not, adjust your calories up gradually until you stop losing - like all the calculations on here, maintenance settings aren't entirely accurate, so you have to find what works for you.

Could you continue doing your exercises but eat more calories?

I guess this info could help
    I weigh 150 and am 5'6"
Maintaining since first week of Jan
MFP has my maintance calories at 1810 plus exercise calories. Part of me thinks this is too low. I have NO problem eating more calories (I love food and literally eat all day long sometimes) but I am scared of overeating and not realizing it bc that is how I gained weight in the first place)

Eat more calories, backload the carbs to post workout to ensure minimal fat gain if you are worried about that. Bottom line is if you are still losing inches then the body is using up what you are eating and more besides.

You decide if the continued loss is healthy or not.
    Are you becoming too skinny?

Nude, do you like what you are seeing in the mirror?
Our goals should NEVER be to fit in some dress or whatever - just healthy bodies.
We want to look good, feel great and live a long, happy life.

    So, which is it?
If you have lost enough weight, eat more.
Simple deal, but do not stop exercising.

If you do, say HELLO to the weight gain, because here it comes.
Don't be like so many others who gain it all back.

I agree, you need to up calories but continue the exercising. Just be sure you add in QUALITY calories: whole grains, veggies & fruit, lean protein, nuts & avocados (healthy fats for glowing wedding day skin!!) It is an experiment! Congrats on your achievement, and upcoming wedding! (Trust me, it is a GIFT for that dress to be too big at this point so you are not panic-dieting!! ) If it becomes absoulutely necessary, chugging a few chocolate shakes at the end to fill it out would not be a tragedy!! (add some protein powder lol!)

This reminds me of that episode of "How I Met Your Mother" where Lilly lost weight and her wedding dress was too big, lol

How long until your wedding? I suggest limiting cardio exercises, and focus on strength training to maintain the tone. You could even try increasing your caloric intake a little bit, gradually, and weighing/measuring yourself often to track differences. I think some trial and error with your caloric intake should do the trick. Also, you could speak to a tailor about altering the dress/corset if you've got time and it's not too expensive. It can be done if there is the need. Good luck and congratulations!

one) I have NO intention of gaining weight or stopping exercise.

two) while yes I see your point, fitting into a wedding dress is a very important thing for most women. We have to make sure the dress fits us. It is not a shirt or a pair of jeans. It is an expensive high quality dress. Therefore, if I am unable to fit into the next smaller size, fitting into the size I ordered is important. It cannot be altered if I lose too much weight because of the way it is made. It is not a shallow thing - it is because I have spent a lot of $$ and do not want to lose my dream dress. As a male, I am sorry but you just cannot understand how it is for women with wedding dresses.

i would keep up the exercise but increase your calories until your weight levels out.
