Why does my HRM show me burning calories when I'm just sitting around? Is this acccrate? Did I really burn 700 calories just cleaning the house w/o breaking a sweat?
Can this be real?
I just bought it this weekend.

Yes, you do burn calories just sitting around- thus your BMR. While housework does burn calories, I would not count those in your exercise. Good luck! I love my hrm!0

700 Calories? That does seem to be a little high. I'm curious to see what other people have to say.0

those are just maintenance calories. that's pretty much what your BMR is (basal metabolic rate), or how many calories your body requires if you were to sit in bed all do and do absolutely nothing. its the calories you use to breath, move, digest, etc.

Yes you HRM will continue to count calories- Just some advice to save the life of your battery (since it is meant to be warn during workouts 1 hour a day) just strap it on when you workout- Thats what My polar handbook said-0
