Hi its telling you that you are not eating enough because, it's letting you know that not skipping calories is not the way to lose weight, in fact your body goes it to starvation mode, if it does not get enough calories, so it holds on to to every bit of food you eat, if you are working out it's even worse. so you don't lose weight as your body can't afford to let that happens as it needs food to function. Ithe calories on the diary that goes down as you add food is the smallest amount of food that you can afford to eat for that day to lose weight. hope that helps. your body needs at least 900 calories per day to function.

    Hi
Before I started MFP, my sister told me I was not eating enough, and that did not make sense to me, but I was gaining .5 per week and couldn't figure out why? Then I started paying attention and tracking my calories through MFP, and was totally not eating anywhere near what I needed. The first week that I started with MFP I was still slightly under calories but not enough that I got that little message that tells me I am not eating enough (because I have gotten that too). So by staying closer to my limit I lost 4.2 lbs!!!

It works to stay closer to # of calories you should have so as the previous poster says your boday does not go into starvation mode and "store" all your calories.............

    Good luck!
