All of a Sudden, I'm Losing Weight!?!

Hello Everyone,
The topic of this thread might sound funny considering we're on MFP and trying to lose weight, right? Here's the deal:
I have been struggling with weight gain due to PCOS (Poly Cystic Ovary Syndrome) since I was 17. I'm 26 now. I was always a healthy weight until I turned 17, then literally the pounds just started coming and never stopped. I've been able to successfully lose a FEW pounds when I really watch what I eat and count every calorie, but the minute I stop, it all comes back. Even when i am eating healthy foods i still gain weight. I went from 202 to 212 in a little under a year despite the attempts to eat beter. HOWEVER...
I have been monitoring what I eat but not nearly to the extent as before. I've allowed myself cheats and some days, not been able to eat well at all. This started in early December. I have noticed my weight is dropping and I am now down to 205. I haven't really been exercising to the degree that I used to either. I'm trying to figure out WHY I am losing weight now and not when I was actually trying. The only thing everyone keeps saying is that it could be due to having a puppy now. We just got him and I've been getting up at 3 hour intervals to take him out, walk him, and then am going back to sleep. This confuses me because I've always heard that disrupted sleep throws your hormones out of whack and causes weight GAIN.
However, my husband thinks that because my hormones were already out of whack due to the PCOS, maybe the sleep disruption is actually regulating them and allowing me to lose weight? Any thoughts? I know this is random.

It could be because you are eating enough for your activity now... you may not of been eating enough and therefore not losing before.0
