Hello, MFP!

I'm Gabrielle, and I'm hoping to get myself back into a functional fitness level of my standard. My "About Me" says it all:

"A couple of years ago, I was in peak physical condition. I went through BCT/AIT, took care of and pride in my body, and worked out 6 days a week. When I hit the Reserves, my physical exertion decreased from 6 days to 0 in a matter of months. I filled myself with fast food and started back to my old habits of never working out and inhaling food. Now, separated from the military, I find that I have trouble climbing up one flight of stairs without getting winded. It hit me that I needed to change.

I have begun portion control (can you believe I used to eat an entire box of macaroni and cheese??) and now incorporate exercising 12-30min a day at a minimum of 3 days per week.

My goal? I would like to be at 127lbs and working out 6 days a week once again. I want to feel like my body is a well-oiled machine and that I am physically capable of doing anything."

I found MFP by downloading every free app on the Android market designed to assist in marking the progress of weight loss and monitoring the foods that I eat. After weeding through several busted apps and forums filled with anorexic teenagers (*ahem*fatsecret.com and their app "Calorie Counter"*ahem*), I decided that MFP met the criteria in both sound forum members and app functionality. I've only just begun to use this app and website as a tool to not only plan my daily meals but track my exercise progress as well.

I hope I can make friends in the community that are close to my age range (23-32) and into the same things that I'm into (table top and video gaming, anime and cosplay, etc.) and has the same goal/outlook on fitness: Do it to make your body feel great!!! It would be nice to find a convention buddy with whom I can have friendly competition, motivate each other, and even go so far as text/aim/fb chat to encourage each other to do the best that we can.

Best of luck, blessings, and happiness to you in the new year!!

Hey. That IRL brings back memories of too many nights glued to MMO', which probably contributed heavily to me being on this site. Currently in Gaming Recovery, at least from MMO's and others which require huge blocks of time at one time. Though still play a few far more relaxed ones which don't require nearly as much attention and are easy to turn off.
